Forums - Nintendo - Splatoon Serving Crow A Little Early, Who's Joining For Dinner? (Aka Admiting Your Wrong)

Sales still aren't out, though

Well, maybe in December when VGChartz makes it to the first week of Splatoon sales.

All I know is, it'll do better than Pikmin 3.

Are you folks serious? What reason to be so excited about its sales do you have? Everybody who wants this game bought it in the first week. There's a lot of people with Wii U's who will buy anything Nintendo puts out that is first party, just to justify their purchase. The 'hype' you've been hearing from Nintendo doesn't trickle down to normal people who don't spend all their time on Nintendo forums. You're deluding yourself. It can 'do better than all but 5 I think Wii U games' its first week and still do terrible, because NO Wii U game has been all that successful. Selling to a huge portion of the extremely few people with Wii U's is a given, because those people spent a chunk of change on a console that only gets like four games a year. Big freaking deal.

That said, I have a Wii U and will not be getting this.

THAT is too true. This site doesn't even care about the purpose it was put up for. NPD comes out before this site makes its wack ass predictions anymore.

Hmm...  a little bit early for dinner, don't you think?

Now, since the Crow has already been served and someone has to eat it...   I'm curious. What would it take for you to eat that Crow yourself Tbone? like, what is the absolute minimun you think the game is gonna make?

The minimum lifetime? As of now i dont see it being under a million lifetime. I dontsee it higher than 3.5mil. I eat alot of crow if the game didn't surpass 600k-700k mark by years end.

[WiiU] Super Smash Bros. Wii U - 251pt - 11/2014 - FW: 227,527

[WiiU] New Super Mario Bros U - 200pt - 12/2012 - FW: 163,528

[WIU] Splatoon - 5 days before release - 111pt - 5/2015

I just wanted to add onto tbone's post to enforce my point about ranges (which wasn't responded to for whatever reason).

Smash 4 and NSMBU all did significantly worse than their points suggested. Not nearly accurate enough to seriously place predictions on. It only takes one wrench to dismantle something like this.

Your practically downplaying one of the biggest threads on VGC, as well as not understanding the ratio of 1p:1k. Both of those 2 wiiu games are within 80% of the 1p:1k Ratio, hence why predictions are close. Youalso clearly ignored the majority in which the ratio was 100%+ of the 1p:1k ratio.

If you dont want to understand it, fine but do not attempt to dismiss it because you aren't understanding, especially when most of us in the thread realize and predict accordingly thanks to its #s and ratio

Word of mouth, mate.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

The game looked very good from the day it was revealed - I didn't get why more people weren't talking about it at E3. The push in marketing and global testfire success has pushed it over the edge - it made me commit to a pre-order and now I can't wait.

Eat crow over what? We don't have reviews or sales numbers...there is an ad for it that plays at work though, not interested in it personally but I'm surprised they're advertising it.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
