Also kinda related, I went to Target 2 days ago and decided to check their video game section. While there, they were advertising Splatoon every 5 minutes on the nearby TV section. At least half of the flat screen TVs on display were showing it . I was kinda shock because it took up the entire bottom role of TVs on sales. Anyone else seen Splatoon heavily advertised in retail as well?

It was but last weekend only, and there was no testfire then, which is a downloadable demo for the online multiplayer, Gamestop's demo was naturally in stores and only of the singleplayer and 1v1 mode.

They are seriously pushing this game.

The 2-3 commercials are INEFFECTIVE if noone see's them. This is like absolute terrible advertising compared to the amount of ads I see from MS, Sony and 3rd parties on TV.........from pretty much all channels and at various times of day.

I still never saw a Wii U TV(not on youtube) commercial since 2012.......
and a 3DS one since last year...... (though I know they are regular on KIDS channels.)

Yeah it is a backround ad which I just figured out.

And yeah, at my local Fred Meyer's they are advertising it like crazy on their TV's. They even have a big cardboard box with Splatoon all over it in front of the eletronics section (they did the same with Mario Party, Captain Toad, Smash, Mario Kart, Bayonetta, Hyrule etc)

That's a pretty high dollar piece of ad real estate. Nice to see that.

They're also advertising the splatoon testfire on WiiU games like Captain Toad on Amazon.de. Never seen anything like that before. Pretty cool.

It's just advertisement, I had to turn off ad-block too see it.

Yep same here, seems they're only shown on stuff like Cartoon Network, as if Nintendo wants to give itself a kiddy image. Awkward because I know the Wii was shown on more mainstream channels so don't understand why they'd backtrack for Wii U.

I really hope it does well even if it's just for Nintendo's efforts.
