Only 1 year? They must delay it to add new content and release complete.

“A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”

― Shigeru Miyamoto

Miyamoto made that statement before patches and dlc existed. And the dlc is free, so I don't understand why you would complain about it.

Delays are always good.

I'd agree with you if the dlc wasn't free, but I can't now.

It will obviously affect reviews though, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the game imo.

Free or not that's not the problem. The problem is that they are clearly rushing the game to the point of releaseing incomplete and adding content later. This is not DLC, this is a patch.

I agree with Miyamoto, but this reference doesn't say anything about splatoon because its neither a delayed game or a bad one

Delays never hurt. They should delay to add more content and polish it. Then release the complete package.

Yeah but most of that is coming as free updates within 2-3months. The game doesn't need any more polishing, it just needs the extra modes and stages which is all coming.

TBH if there was a choice between

A) MK9 coming to next gen for a Launch title with no other notable games with 16 tracks (After the game is done technically) and another 4 tracks released every month for 6 months (40 tracks) as free DLC.

B) MK9 comes out 6-8 months after the date of choice A fully completed.

I choose A easily.

Would you choose this for every game, or only for certain ones?

Its not incomplete lol. The full game is ready, just a few modes and stages coming again as free and not that far off from launch.

I dont get why People are complaining about getting a game 3 months early with 1/3rd the stages and fewer modes available.

HERE LOOK AT IT THIS WAY.... The difference with whats actually happening, and what you and some others want is with the actually way happening, we get to play the game alot earlier. Thats it.

Honestly? Certain Games. LoZ for example is a game i dont think fits in the category, while SSB/MK definitely are

But if the full game is ready, what's the point on not launching all of the content in the official release date?

Theres numerous benefits to a spread out launch schedule for an online centric game, such as a more focused community and greater longevity, both of which will improve the consumer experience in the long run.

I see. Like an episodic game? That's a good idea. They should do with more games.
