Forums - Sony Discussion - Edit: GT to not appear at E3? Next GT to be called Gran Turismo Sport?

The game title doesn't make any sense. However, a new GT will come eventually.

Why not just Gran Turismo Racing. Sounds better imo...

Yeah, GTR would be the perfect acronym for this franchise.

If it is called GT Sport, I think it may be a new way of saying prologue to buy more time for a full GT7 release.

They've already said that they aren't doing a prologue for the next GT game. They also said they are moving away from numbered games.

I like it, sounds good.

Whoa......thats two claims that are totally out of character. No prologue and no # title....link plz.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Here's a source for the no prologue thing: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-27-gran-turismo-7-is-in-the-works-standard-cars-set-to-stay

No idea about the numbered games thing.

Btw. the same guy that made the comment in the OP also said that he doesn't see GT appearing at E3:

I'm curious to see GT on PS4.

The series was glorious on the PS1 and PS2 days, but on PS3 , it left a lot to be desired.

It should definitely be interesting. I'm not a fan of GT (or driving sims in general), but on a technical level both GT5 and 6 felt like they were trying to achieve something that simply wasn't possible on the hardware. It made the end result feel a bit sloppy.

It looks like this guy amar on Neogaf has some Gran Turismo inside knowledge and he made this cryptic post today, looks like the reveal of the next game might really be almost upon us.

"So,

Gran Turismo Sport

Interesting"

Edit: New post saying that GT won't be at E3:

GT Sport! Could be a more arcadey version that will be more like forza and still keep the orignal version. Both versions would alternate releases.

I think GT6 failure might have changed their plan on how the game should be

Failure?

I see over 250k guys playing the game yet ON PS3...

BTW only in Japan GT6 did 500k as of Dec 2014 (one year)... GT5 did 780k as of March 2013 (2.5 years) for comparison.

When you think about sales, yes it was a failure, compared to previous versions of the game. I believe is the least sold GT.

But in my opinion it was a terrific game, fixing most of the problems with GT5. Way superior game.

It is the second best GT game, just behind GT4. Why? Because GT4 had Seattle Circuit...

Nobody knows the bold for sure... no data was released.

In Japan for example it is close to reach GT5... needs about 200k.

Edit - I guess PD will announce and update sale when the franchise reaches 80m... if that happens before the next GT game then GT6 could be sold on pair or better than GT1 (9.37m).
