Yeah, I've noticed that those shortcuts are really awesome.. though I sometimes use the shortcut even without mushrooms (because the first can help you get to the second)

Personally i like those crazy shortcuts that will take you into the lead. there should be more of those. i understand why your frustrated though

Yeah, the shortcuts on Cheese Land are pretty crazy.

I hate them because I'm a beast at Mario Kart.

I think I've only used them like once and even then I didn't win because the guy who was in 1st was right next to me and we both used it and he still won.

That's not the only track, but the entire game. That's what happens when people complains about good games like MK64 and MKWii.

You've gotta give up your grudge against MK8, dude. It's getting sort of pathetic at this point. All MKs are good, and all MKs suck. Some would argue that the item balancing in Wii is god awful, equivalent in quality to the shortcuts in 8. So on and so forth for parts of every game I'm the series. 

The secret to mk multiplayer has always been to be in the 2nd-4th standing for the majority of the race, because the handicap is so much better there than in first.

In first you really don't get any good drops, but you can still be very close to the the person in first place while still being third or fourth.

If you take the early lead and try to hold it, chances are, you aren't actually a smart racer.
The strategy in MK is to place yourself so that you can pick up the drops you need, position yourself, and secure the victory. This stategy in most games is called a "gambit", though this would be a variation. Take a disadvantage in order to gain strategic positioning.

There have been times where I've held a mushroom for multiple laps simply for exploit purposes, when I thought the chances were low I would get another one.

I don't have any problem with the item balance in MKWii, unlike 8 where the 1st place get a red shell and the second place a fucking coin.

I like cheese and am less experienced MK player. I just don't like the cheese land track.
