I don´t care to be honest.

Seems like OP is asking about hard drive storage, not because of the stigma of "on-disc DLC."

Well I think maybe some content is locked and some don´t. So idk.

But anyway, Splatoon is only 1.8GB, I don´t see Splatoon being +3Gb this year, not because a low amount of new content, but because the Nintendo compression.

Are some of you saying it's okay for there to be disc locked content?

Well, tecnically Animal Crossing has lots of content that you can´t touch on day one, because the game is growing while you play at real time. Is that bad for that game? or is just a different way to make things? They are not making you pay for the content, they choose to make it that way because they think is the best for the game.

I sure hope so. If Nintendo does that then people don't have to download them. That is the type of effort other companies don't make, and that makes Nintendo stand out and beloved.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I guess one way to challenge this would be to check the files on the disc to see if there is indeed some of that content in there.

Whether this content is done or not now, it`s weird how they choose to release the content for this game. While it is free, it would be overall better if they just have everything from the start. I guess they want to keep the game going with `new` content over a period of time. It`s hard for me to okay this, but now I just want to play this game...

Might just be that the installer is 1.8GiB and installed and thus unpacked it takes 2.3 GiB of space on the Flash drive.

Or the Ranking Battles, which get unlocked later on, are already included, just locked until further notice.

3. In scandinavia nintendo is releasing a white 8GB Wii u + Spaltoon bundle. The 8Gb basic wii u got almost no storage left for dlcs and co. If they game would really rely on ALOT downloadable content it wouldnt make any sense to sell it combines with the 8gb version. Many people would get pissed if they wouldnt be able to download the whole game some month after release

The game itself is only 1.8GB. The DLC will not take up much space, so the 8GB Wii U should prove no obstacle.

Having anything locked on the disc is a crappy development tactic.  Whether it's Super Street Fighter 4 having all the DLC characters or free, the devs are holding conent back, meaning the game will be playable, but incomplete for developer agenda.  Witcher 3 devs "oh we're being nice guys giving 16 free pieces of DLC."  Just a marketting scam and nothing more when they more than likely had all the DLC complete and ripped from the game.  How long ago did CDPR announce exactly what all the free DLC would be?

Regardless of it being done or not, they are free. So I don't really care.

I think at least the not shown yet maps are not on disc.

Creating maps "is easy" ?? Holy crap !

There are not many things tougher than creating online multiplayer maps.

As Splatoon is "Shooter on Smash" every little detail counts...
