I'd be surprised really, after bayoneta I don't expect much from the wii U fan base

You should expect even less from the PS/XB fanbase then, around a 5 - 7% of the WiiU fanbase has Bayo 2, but only a 1% of ps/xb fanbase had Bayonetta 1.

Oh but is easier to blame Nintendo fans of course.

Ho please, bayonetta 2 came with 2 games for the price of one, was highly rated, on a console with few high quality games but sadly there wasn't '' mario'' in the title. I know you won't understand but that's why third parties don't make games for that user base on console because unlike the wii/ wiiu the PS3/4 and X360/1 have an history of selling third partie games just look at their best selling list. And don't give me that userbase crap it only really affect big games with very high budgets like cod or gta on the microsoft/Sony consoles or the Nintendo games on their platform like mario this/ mario that not the smaller type of games like bayo.

6% vs 1%

A sequel from a game that start with another fanbase.

Bayo2 still have chances to sell the same as ps3/x360 with time and with 1/8 consoles sold....

So no excuses, you are downgrading an entire fanbase. And a little bit of respect, I´m tired of that "they only buy mario" shit, is what all the haters says.

Bayonetta is very specific game, evan first game didnt sell much better on much bigger user base of PS360, and on Wii U isn't so bad, 670k without digital sales (according to VGC) is pretty good for that game on Nintendo console, it can easily reach LT 1m.

On other hand, Splatoon have much wider appearance and look like a perfect game for Nintendo fan base, its very fun, colorful, works and looks great. For me this is 1-2m game.

Like I said before, Splatoon can easily be next big Nintendo IP.

It's not even close to that look at the march npd it's way overtracked in the US and you can bet your ass it is also in EU.  Anyway let's wait and see

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I think more than likely it will outsell Sunset overdrive. But I have a feeling that the Order might become one of those games Sony just throws into bundles to make them seem like a better deal. Thats not going to be possible for Splatoon to compete with.

I don't think Sony will put The Order in a bundle, because the game is not a selling point. It serves no purpose for Sony to pack in a game for free simply to pad out the sales numbers for the game. The reason for bundling is to make the console a more attractive offering, if the game being packed in isn't of interest to the market then it's not going to help console sales. If Sony want's better market penetration for The Order they are better off bargain binning it for $15. At least that way they get a small amount of revenue from each sale. And the game is worth the price of entry at the indie / PSN price range.

I can see it being in a pick 2 of 6 games free with your PS4 sort of thing. But if someone picks The Order out of 6 games that are available then it really means they want the Order and so it's as legit a sale as anything.

Splatoon will go into Smash and Mario Kart territory sales wise !!

The attach rate for a new IP will be phenomenal - as is the whole game.

People who didn't play the global testfire tend to "not get it".

Everybody in the Nintendo universe is hyped about Splatoon. From Smash to Zelda people. Never seen this before.

And do not forget:

Splatoon has no competition on the Wii U as there are up to no shooters and no other big game is being released at the same time on the Wii U.

Beyond that Splatoon has no competition within the whole shooter genre on all consoles as it defines a new one by itself.

Splatoon is as much fun as Mario Kart and easy to learn - but its tactical elements and the skill needed goes beyond Smash.

Splatoon is the single best reason to buy a Wii U for those who didn't feel they need Mario & Co. .

And it will have "legs" as each of Nintendos big IPs.

Why should someone with taste and favouring excellence in gameplay buy a piece of shit?

Or even better: why do some publishers and developers think they can SELL pieces of shit and produce it?

I give you a perfect example for this: Deus Ex.

The Wii U version was rated even better than all others. But by whom?

Instead of making the game accessible for those coming from the Wii - that means giving at leat the option to use WiiMote/Nunchuck - nope. The made it "core gamer" centric. Of course THOSE where happy with it.

Problem was only - most of those core gamers already played it and didn't buy it again. Thats what the sales numbers tell anyone who is not short sighted.

The problem of the thirds is that they don't have a clue how to make good Wii U software or they don't want to take a risk to make an exclusive version.

And selling ports? Who wants to play a title which simply looks better on XOne and PS4 but has nothing extra to offer gameplay wise on the Wii U...

Yep.

Bayon 2 is a much more "mature" game in art and style then Bayo. And it has much better gameplay.

Which might have a reason being funded by Nintendo. I can't think of not Nintendo taking care of the development and giving some clues into which direction to go.

Of course those XBox and PS fanboys don't like to hear that. They thought they "own" Bayonetta.

The same with Splatoon. XBox and PS fanboys think they "own" the shooter genre.

And now comes Nintendo and slaps them into their faces so to say. Not a little evolution of another weapon type or putting the players figurre into a bigger one.

No - Splatoon is a revolution within the shooter genre and thus defining a new sub genre.

Its not only something never seen before - much more important - its something never experienced before.

Splatoon is going to be an instant classic. Like Smash and Mario Kart. And like those it will be unforgetable and it will be one - if not the biggest - game of the whole gen.

I knew it since the first time I saw it, then I had my doubts because all the negativity around it, and now I´m sure it is fated to be a new classic.

According to Michael Pachter, the Order will sell 5 million copies by the end of the year (10 million if bundled), so obviously Splatoon will not outsell it.

Edit:  I do think Splatoon will be a game that's loved, but it seems more like a cult classic than a big seller.  A million copies would be a big success.  Two million is just barely within the realm of possibility imo.
