Edit:  I do think Splatoon will be a game that's loved, but it seems more like a cult classic than a big seller.  A million copies would be a big success.  Two million is just barely within the realm of possibility imo.


I'll comeback when it hits 3mil lifetime, if that happened you wouldn't mind


I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't see it happening.  Aside from Nintendo Land, only Smash Bros, MK8, NSMBU, and 3D World have reached that milestone.

I knew it since the first time I saw it, then I had my doubts because all the negativity around it, and now I´m sure it is fated to be a new classic.


Why though? It's an interesting concept, and I could see myself enjoying it for an hour or so, but that's it. I just don't see this game appealing to that many people.

Beasting on Amazon? It comes out in 12 days, and is number 24 on the list for best sellers right now, I wouldn't really call that "beasting."

Well Amazon isnt everything, ironically Mario Party 10 was not doing as good as Splatoon (it strted to take off In its last week, in the top 10-15 area) and it did 290k in its first month (about 15-20 days)

The game has been among the best seller games around europe for the past week, specially after the demo, it was pretty high on US too and is top 1 on Japan right now. Even in countries where WiiU sell like shit the game was pretty high,it was top 2 for at least 2 days on Spain (playstationland), is currently on top 5.

OT: I think it has a good chance of pulling it off long-term, but it could go either way. It seems like a game that will keep on selling for a while.

Top 10-15 area would be higher than splatoon, 290K in 20 days is far from impressive, and I was respnonding to a comment that was mentioning Amazon.  Splatoon is still below the top 20, behind 18 sony and microsoft products, and 2 other nintendo products.

And your point? SSBU was > than most games for months on amazon but it wasnt in the top 5 in every NPD. An example of this is SSBU>SSB3ds on amazon yet its the opposite in sales.

Splatoon not in the top 20 yet doesn't necessarily mean its going to be low. XC3D wasnt in the top 20 intill it released and was barely there for a couple days and sold 75k First Month.

Asfor far from impressive, it depends on the game. MP10 surprised most of us because we all thought it was going to be alot lower, especially seeing japan had it opening with 50k. 290k is amazing for what it was.
