The problem with what you just said is that all those films are based on the books. Unless you are referring to the books themselves. Mad Max: Fury Road is directed by the guy who made all the other Mad Max films. This is Mad Max and a sequel that has been envisioned but faithful to the original script of 1993. This is George Millers vision. I think you should watch the movie before making a judgement on this and you should read what I said because one of the reasons everyone is praising this film so much is because of the lack of CGI and the fact almost every stunt in this movie was performed in real time. Most of the actors were stuntmen and those who were actors were put into insane situations for the filming of this movie. Every vehicle you see was made fully functional and driving in real time while they filmed the movie. They made 150 and over 80 were destroyed in the process of filming. The whole process of making this movie is incredibly impressive and one of the first films to do this in decades and the pay off was huge.

I indeed was referring to the books of course.

I won´t make a judgment about the movie before I have seen it though. It was just a thought. Now the story behind the making of the movie won´t directly lead me to enjoying the movie a lot more but I can imagine that what you describe feels refreshing when watching the action.

Of course I loved the originals.

When I go to see a film called Mad Max, I expect it to be about Mad Max, the chick from Mighty Joe Young.

There is a difference between strong female character (Ripley, Rita fron Edge of Tomorrow) and female agenda.

I think you shouldn't overhype this. The movie was good but not as good as the critical praise led me to believe. I definitely don't think it is one of the greatest movies ever or even one of the greatest action movies ever. It is also definitely not for everyone. The movie is going to be too weird for a lot of people.

Went in thinking" how can a movie be a 99%?" Came out thinking, "okay I see it now!" The movie was fantastic, and very different from the only mad max ive seen (the first one.) Make sure to watch it in 3d. It had the best 3d effects I have seen, and I have a 3d Tv and always opt to see 3d versions. The perfect balance of depth and subtlety.

mad max was never about mad max... it was about an intense and wonderfull world, and the new movie is all that and a lot more.

It's always been about Max. He's the one we follow and the character that's left, right and centre of the movie. I know - I just watched the movies this week. And he's an awesome character. A shame that character died now.

I still haven't watched this movie. I don't think a movie that's just a long action sequence won't become boring.

Yes, the movie is great. Yes, Furiosa is a great lead, even her name is great. She is strong, confident and does the impossible to save those women. It is all about being human, not man or woman. There is no need to study up what strong women are, it should be natural to see when a PERSON is strong and worthy.


what actually is wrong with a feminist agenda tbh, we have tons of male driven blockbusters where men are the smartest and strongest for decades ,meh first blockbuster to do this in forever so i have no qualms

Why use the Mad Max franchise then?

max is just our guide to the world, anybody could have beaten up blaster, we dont just care about it because the great hero has beaten him up.

He's not just a guide, he's the protagonist of the franchise and everything else just happens to be on his path.

Why do you think people got upset with Raiden in MGS2 instead of Snake?
