Well, Dragon Quest VII for the PS1 also came West but the 3DS version still has not...

I just hope they keep the voice acting and the orchestral soundtrack unlike the iOS/Android versions. Also, I was hoping that DQVII's remake was confirmed for the West but with this announcement, the chances of that happening have been killed.

This is a huge announcement looking at the bigger picture.

Usually before a new main line DQ game is released at least once is remade before it, this is the second 3DS remake, seems like XI could land on the 3DS after all.

I was honestly expecting the VIII remade to be for PS4 as that's where the series seemed to be heading, its very interesting now.

XI's reveal can't come soon enough.

Seen several people saying that the 8th one is the best. Not really interested in the series myself though...

Can Squeenix at least localize the fucking remakes? Seriously.

This really only reaffirms my suspicions that DQXI will be heading to 3DS though. There have been several remakes, and a couple new spinoffs, in addition to DQX. They're building up the fanbase on the platform for a reason, I think.

i've been wanting to get into the dragon's quest series so i'll pick this up if it comes to the west.

I guess they just don't have confidence that it will sell.  I honestly was hoping that Nintendo would pick it up like they did with Bravely Default.

They're also building a fanbase on the PS4 with Dragon Quest Heroes though.
