Though I would have liked a more colorful ad more.  I don't like the white background trend much and it's been overused besides.  That, and the actual backgrounds for this game are one of its biggest strengths.  

Yeah that´s true, but we need games now, it will sell a lot on Xmas too. And I agree, the backgrounds of this game are gorgeous and they could be using that instead of the sterile white.

I think it's a strange decision to not show any gameplay. The game looks awesome, they should show it off, not simply try to sell it off the back of a cute character.

So just a tibit of gameplay would have been great but this is still my favourite Wii U tv spot so far. Maybe not showing gameplay will actually get people to check it out assuming its more then a 2D platformer, which is kind of anti climatic. When I was younger I used to ask for things based on what was sold to me in the advert, not what the actual game was.

I don't know. I think I was kinda put off by it. Doesn't really show what it's selling, just a "LOOK HOW CUTE WE ARE!" The cuteness is fine, but I think it could have been handled a bit better.

yeah Im torn, when it comes to this one.

Would this cute ad have worked better than showing some gameplay video that might have appealed to not just the mom&dad, but the teens that play yoshi?

I think this time of the year, a gameplay video would probably have been smarter.
I think come christmas a AD like this.... would do best.

I dont think this is the only comercial anyway, the game is out in 2 months, they will release something more, but this one is very cute imo.
