You're hating, you realise that?

I am not gonna judge until i'm playing the game and taking the whole vibe in.

To be honest with you, i can only recall one tune from the original chronicles and the battle theme isnt even it. It did not stop me from loving the game. I think that in general game's music is not to my taste. The orchestral soundtracks are a waste. Its a game, you cant focus on playing the game and paying atention to the multiple lanes of music. Its just gonna get filtered as noise and not be memorable at all.

So, yeah... i wish it was another Xenogears soudtrack, but they dont make those anymore.

I'm hating on certain songs, or certain elements of the songs, yes.

Game music either has to be really good and memorable, like Ocarina of Time, or generic and simply back ground noises, like Skyward Sword. I was pretty dissapointed with the music in Zelda SS because it wasn't memorable, like most Zelda music is. BUT, I didn't hate it just because I couldn't remember the tunes. In XCX it seems like I'll be remembering the music, or some of the songs at the very least, but not for the right reasons. I fear these tunes will rip me out of my immersion of the game and mess up my excperience with it. How what's that? No one, but bad music can certainly do that.

He's... not saying or even implying the game will suck because of the music he dislikes.

If he doesn't like the music already, as many others do because of all the rap, that's unlikely to change even when he "takes the whole vibe in".

I didnt imply he was hating on the whole game. But the music is a part of the whole product that is a game. Can't really take the whole pakage in when you are focusing only on one of the parts. Its my opinion anyways. I think its only unlikely because he decided not to like it because he set certain expectations on it.

Its like everything. If you listen to music, or play a game or watch a movie with the midset of "go on, impress me" chances are, it will fall short. If you go in with a clear mind, you are more likely to enjoy it.

For example, the Persona series has alot of singing on it and its amazing. Though personally, i also tend to dislike vocals, and i wouldnt be surprised if they were removed on the localised version.

The daytime Cauldros theme in the OP is actually pretty awesome. Probably because it doesn't have rap in it.

This is how I noticed the bad music; I was watching a stream of the game but noticed that the music playing wasn't synching up with the game, so I asked the streamer what was up. So she turned off her dubstep music and turned on the actual gaming sound. Everything was fine and dandy. I was enjoying the stream when all of a sudden she got into a battle and someone started to rap. That pulled me out of the moment in a heart beat. After that was done she went to NLA and we got a pretty funky beat going on, when all of a sudden some one's starting to drop rap beats in the middle of it. Again, I'm pulled out of the moment. So, it's not like I've decided to dislike the music from the get go. Certain elements in the music pulled me out of my enjoyment of the stream, which lead me to check up more songs on youtube and found a bunch more of ear pollution... This is the opposite of what game music should do.

I agree. That one is actually quite enjoyable. But I like this kind of electronic music.

I feel it fits with the futuristic setting of the game.

The cRAP though... Ugh... my ears!

No wonder then that she had some other music on while she played. Ha ha. xD

EDIT: Gosh. Sorry for triple posting. O_o

I don't mind the electronic music, only dem drums in that song ^^ They could easily have used something else to evoke tht futuristic feeling. At first I thought my speakers were broken when I heard that song :P
