If only Nintendo had had this ready for E3, would have provided some much needed hype. And calmed people down about the 2016 lineup. Hopefully an Autumn direct will bring more of this, Zelda, and more.

This. I thought they were going to have Pokkén as a NX launch title the way everything was so shady. Why they didn't show it at E3 is beyond me.

They may have still been in negotiations, but they really should have pushed hard to have this settled and ready for announcement at E3. But overall the E3 Digital Event was a bizarre low point for Nintendo this year and was really poor at representing the Wii U (and even the 3DS) lineup of 2015 and the first half of 2016. I mean, in the next 8 months or so the Wii U has (assuming the launch windows stick) in the US:
Super Mario Maker
Yoshi's Wooly World
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Fatal Frame V
Devil's Third
Star Fox Zero
FAST Racing Neo
Genei Ibun Roku #FE
Pokken Tournament
Mario Tenis Ultra Smash
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival
Mari and Sonic at the Rio Olympics (maybe)
And that's just exclussives and only one of those is an indie game (which I put in due to production values and such). That's a real nice lineup if you ask me and helps to diversify the Wii U's offering with games in the horror, JRPG/RPG, action shooter, fighting, rail shooter, and futuristic racing genres. If Nintendo had saved the first footage of Genei Ibun Roku #FE and the Mario and Sonic announcement for E3, had kept the Indie showcase and Smash announcements in the Digital Event, had announced Pokken Wii U at E3, and had really shocased that entire lineup in the Digital Event, I think they would have easily been on the same level as Microsoft at E3. But as it is, Nintendo's Directs between the Zelda delay and E3 were good, the Championships and Smash announcements were good, and then suddenly the Digital Event was just this sharp drop in quality. And then the Treehouse started and Nintendo was doing good again. It's weird, like the Digital Event was thrown together late or maybe Zelda footage or some big announcment (maybe this) was sliced out and nothing took its place. Really strange the more I think about it.
