I kinda like the voices they chose for XCX. They're not whiny like typical JRPG voices, and they sound fairly mature. That being said, the lip syncing needs to be touched up.

I say the voice acting is great. Although, I wish they're not all typical american voices. The british accent from XC was kinda fitting for the game.

But sweet jesus, they need to redo the animation altogether

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

The English voices in XCX are better than I expected.

It's not as good as the VA in the first game, but it's acceptable.

Well I just finished the single player campaign in Splatoon, and I can say that all that hype around the final boss was totally deserved. It really was worth the whole thing.

I have something a bit more mindblowing to share, though... when I finished level 23, the sunken scroll had a song written on it, so I copied it to my computer and listened to it - though it sounded like something from Splatoon indeed, I didn't recognize it and thought it could be the final boss song. Getting there, in fact it is the one that plays during the last portion of the battle. However, this is where things really get interesting:

The song also plays during the credits, and in the sunken scroll it said it was an inkling theme or something like that. It was pretty iconic and had a big presence in the game's story. And that's when I realized that, for 11 months (since the game was unveiled), we've been lied to. Splattack is not the game's main theme - it was the main theme of the trailers and the Global Testfire, but as far as I can tell it only plays in one place in Splatoon, and that's as one of the random multiplayer songs. It's not there on the Wii U opening, title screen, inkopolis, menus... nowhere. It's simply nowhere.

Splatoon's main theme is Calamari County.

I watched a video about that!

Yeah, I agree. Calamari County is definitely Splatoon's theme. I mean, the song in game is essentially the anthem of the Inkling race.

The real tragedy is that it's called "Sonic Boom."  The game actually looks pretty good.  But being tied to the Boom game franchise will probably drag it down into oblivion.

I'm still not over how awesome that final boss was. Man, what a way to finish a game.

Exactly how I felt when I finished. It left a grin on my face for hours afterwards. :)

The game is really awesome. I mean, even the story managed to get interesting near the end... and there was some really crazy stuff on those sunken scrolls (the Judd one particularly, it was so sad).

This was something I was already feeling well before finishing the single player campaign, but I can now say with certainty that this is THE game a Wii U is worth getting for. As in, I don't actually think it's the best game on the system (still probably behind Tropical Freeze and Smash for me), but it's the one that actually realized the potential of the system. From the great motion controls, to the great Inkopolis hub with the Miiverse integration (by far the best miiverse integration I've seen yet), to having Squid Jump on the gamepad while you're waiting to play a game, and obviously the map and super jumping in-game. I guess one could argue most of these, if not all of these could be done on different hardware, but that's not the point - the game really feels like the full realization of what the Wii U should be at its finest.

Glad you enjoyed it so much, I really liked it too, more so than any game since Bayonetta 2. :)

And yeah, the backstory was awesome; despite its colourful, E-rated aesthetics, it's basically a post-apocalyptic universe where mankind is extinct. XD
