I was joking. No one would reveal and release a device on the same day lol.
Of course it wont. It'll be just like Wii Us final pitch.
There will be a Nintendo Direct in Q1 2016, likely March, that will be the initial blow out of information on the console(s), overall UI / featureset, tie-in to mobile technology, and "Holiday 2016" launch. Maybe we'll see a tech demo or something more specific like Zelda (think twilight princess launch).
Then a Nintendo Direct for E3 that will detail all final information, dates, price, and of course games for the "launch period" in Holiday 2016 and Q1 2017.

Apple would. ;)
You can order their products a few hours or days after the official announcement in most cases. Amazon also has very small windows between announcements and release of their devices.
Of course a new console or handheld needs a lot more preparation... they have to give third parties (and their own developers) time to develop some games for the launch window.
they said this quite awhile ago and no one listened lol

men, when they fisrt talked aboult NX, they said they would only talk about it again in 2016.
From the graphic they showed us which looked like the Nintendo eco-system and their membership service the Nintendo NX was clearly a separate entity to the Wii U and the DS. I think it'll be a dedicated gaming platform like they've said, but I think it'll be a totally new concept. I don't think it'll be a successor to the DS or Wii U and it'll be something that people aren't expecting. I can't see them pulling the plug on the Wii U in 2016. I can't.
Well at least the Wii U will have a 5 year cycle, for better or for worse financially for Nintendo.
The next 5 years are going to be some of the most interesting years for Nintendo, and will be a strong indicator of both the company's shift in direction as well as public response. I'm excited but equally terrified.
Why is this news? Didn't they flat out say this like a month ago?
Boo! I am really curious and want to see it!
Unless it really isn't ready. Which isn't a great sign.
