It's not the recording, Digital Foundry pointed out that the PS4 version suffered from ghosting/banding but the Xbox One version did not.

Why is it only noticeable in that 1 video then though? In all the other videos they have of the PS4 playing it, its not noticeable at all, but then in this video it is?

" the current PS4 build uses a different form of motion blur to Xbox One's (and indeed PC's at any setting). Unlike other versions of Project Cars, PS4 pushes for per-object motion blur that affects each car as they rocket past, entirely independent of the screen. Unfortunately, the method isn't flattering, with its low sample rate causing obvious banding behind each racer. Xbox One puts in a stronger effort overall, and though it misses the per-object version of the effect, its full-screen blur quality is closer to the PC's best preset."
Maybe I'm blind but they both look pretty much the same to me. Particularly the second comparison video that JRPGFan linked.
Even if there is some slight difference, it's nothing that jumps out of the screen as being a massive thing and they both look excellent which is the key. Will likely pick it up soon, seems like my cup of tea.

The issue is the ghosting in that video.
Its not on the cars, its on the enviroments you notice it.
So it has nothing to do with what type of motion blurr is used on the cars, im talking about apples, and you reply with oranges.
What you linked is a differnt matter than what is shown in the OPs video.
I still think its about how the video was recorded / the tv it was recorded on/ how the videoed was encoded....
something, because the same issue isnt seen in any other videos.
This is ghosting:

I think they used a good quality TV to record the Xbox 1 sample, so it looks normal there, but they used a differnt/cheaper tv model for the ps4 sample so you observe ghosting in the video.

Pretty sure the Digital Foundry guys know more about the tech involved than you do.
Im not saying they dont.
Im just saying I see ghosting in that 1 ps4 video of project cars, and in no other videos of ps4 playing project cars.
its curious... and happends to be the one video picked by op to show case project cars on xb1 vs ps4.

They put it down to a low sample rate, so maybe it samples at a lower or higher rate based on the situation? That would cause the artefact in some scenes but not others.
I think the WiiU version is the best... :
OT: THe differences are so small it is not going to matter when you are playing the game. That's the point of almost all of these comparisons of multiplat games. People are arguing over very little or nothing in the actual gameplay experience.
So, this topic is redundant. Too bad we waste so much time on this stuff.
It is near the end of the end....

Btw from that article:
"UPDATE: It's come to our attention that the build of Project Cars used as the basis for this article was not intended by the developer Slightly Mad Studios for technical analysis. We weren't aware of this, which was the unfortunate result of some miscommunication on our part with the game's publisher. It was an honest mistake and it is not our intention to misrepresent the game, so we've unpublished the videos that form the basis of the article."
Makes it sound like its a issue could have been them getting a non ready for release version they tested it on.
If that video is from a early non ready for release version of the game... yeah that could explain it as well.
Still XB1 comes out looking great in that video, while the oppersite is true for the PS4.
Its more or less the only video where that happends, with project cars.
