Forums - Gaming - The Division Is Being Developed By Four Different Ubisoft Studios

No surprise, Ubisoft games are usually made by 100s of people, I guess this one breaks the 1000 mark?

Their open world games feel so soulless, repetitive and shallow. They don't feel like the creative work of a few who put their heart in it. Kojima makes big project games too, yet they ooze with charm and distinctive features. It's like one is a factory, the other is an atelier with a genius in it.

The AC games have well over 1500 working on them (cannot remember the exact number but it was very high)... something like 9 studios got involved. Problem with AC is that it's lost its focus and feels like multiple teams have bolted things on. I expect the same as the division if they are not careful.

4 different Studios? The Division indeed...

Has anyone posted that write up from the AC3 developer yet?

yeah, 4 developers, and you wonder why these games need to sell 10 million to be profitable. geez. i wish these publishers wouldnt rush games in order for them to meet a specific time frame, some things just need time. you cant have a baby in 1 month by getting 9 women pregnant.

are we sure about that?!?

i think i need to get 9 women pregnat to see for myself.

you realize you'd need to get 5 women to sleep with you first? and the chances of that are the as good as the chances of the ouya outselling the PS4.

Mor than with Unity, this game reminds me of WatchDogs: huge reveal with a lot of promises, followed by so many problems that they had to delay the game and involve more studios into the development of that game.

Luckily for Ubisoft, while their development studios struggle with their games, their marketing team knows how to do their job very well.

The question is what will happen first: their dev studios improving or their marketing team screwing up? If it's the first Ubi will be safe, if it's the second Ubi will have real troubles.

4 studios? How are they going to coordinate this?

Ubisoft's games are so paint-by-numbers that it won't even matter. It's still going to be a bland and probably buggy product at the end of the day. The only part of Ubisoft which really needs to be coordinated, as others above have said, is the part of Ubisoft that handles their marketing.

People still care what ubisoft is doing?

Seriously they release such overhyped buggy let downs lately.

They make the Fable guy look like he never told a lie in his life.

Assassin's Creed games usually have a LOT more people than this. They know what they're doing. No they don't

How do you even manage a team that big? Best of luck to them. And for the rest of us: who is up for a four Studio train wreck?
