Hype will help Brawl sell this first month.

Word of mouth will help it sell for the rest of the Wii's life. That's how Melee worked, that's how Brawl will work, but even greater since A) Wii's userbase is already past GC's lifetime sales, and B) Brawl is the better game...it's improved in so many ways, it's a must buy for anyone who buys a Wii in the next decade.

We will have to wait and see.

It can be applied but you have to look at them differently. The Wii has passed the GC lifetime totals in Europe. This means there is a larger potential audience for a game. While I don't disagree with your predictions, I do not think 800k is out of the question. The old numbers should be seen less as lifetme sales caps, and more as a start for guessing how many the game will sell lifetime.

And FF will not make 3.8 million. The record was not set by FF8 and it had 2.3ish million launch day in Japan alone. Those numbers have gotten smaller with each release and will probably be around 1.5 million tops. Japan has never seen a ressurgence for launch day FF sales with a new system and have been declining every iteration since 8. I do look forward to controlling your avatar for a month (or was it a week?) though. I think it will be a Culdcept Saga or Halo 3 avatar.

I hope Smash will Smash (pun intended) Halo 3's record (yes, still a possibility) so the 360 fanboys can finally be quiet about having the biggest launch ever. If America = 2mln and Japan = 800k+, then Others needs to sell another million. Certainly possible...

 Yes but with separate launches nobody ever cares.  Hype gets built up separately, sales possibly are greater when launches are separate because of those who import and then re-buy, as well a greater shipment to each region when launches are separate as opposed to a mediocre worldwide shipment.

I seriously hope this will pass Halo 3 and be one of the best selling Generation games.

I predicted just over 3 million, who knows, it has a chance, maybe.
