Forums - Nintendo - "Rollers" are the Little Mac of Splatoon! Not OP :o

Lots of discussion saying Rollers are OP. They definitely are in terms of very up close range and of course they cover a ton of area very quickly, that said this reminds me of Little Mac back when SSB 3DS was released!

Calm down people, when the metagame arises Rollers will just feel like other weapons and wont be OP. Especially in other modes imo!

Thoughts?

good comparison.

One of the roller's main drawbacks is range, and a smart player with a Splattershot can easily beat a roller with good spacing.

Unlike Little Mac, who's pretty bad in Smash, I think the roller is still a great option, as it's very efficient at painting area for your team, which is the main objective of the game.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

When something is OPed in a game, it doesn't stop being OPed because of "metagame". I'm not sure if the roller is Oped though. This is just a general statement for things that are OPed.

The point is that the Roller isn't OP, it just feels like it due to the low skill of the player base. As people get better with the weapons (and get access to the full arsenal), the ranged weapons get better while the roller gets worse, therefore, as the metagame develops, the roller will stop feeling overpowered.

the roller isnt imba in combat, but it is imba in covering space with paint

Also, you can jump over rollers, i beat them quite efficiently like this!!!

Each weapon has it's perks so it's balanced quite well

Sorry but I dont agree. Skilled player with splatblaster (or something like that) beats roller.

All I have to do is pull back in squid form. Its faster than roller and it gives me the space to set up a counter attack.
