Ok, but next time remember that NPD is the US.

And US == NA...

Wow, I didn't realize the PS3 sold that well. And PS2's sales numbers always impress me.
The fact that the #1 console in the US this gen is selling less than the #3 console last gen proves the console industry is dying.

This is flabbergasting to me. The best selling console in the US is selling below the worst selling console last gen. I expected PS4 to be doubling ps3 numbers.

The interesting thing is that Worldwide is almot doubling it. The means that EU and rest of the world are buying more than ever.

Have you done a 3DS/DS/GBA comparison, Ryng_Tolu?

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

I often forgot that, it's like Europe and European Union

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

No, because the GBA numbers of 5^ year are for much months only estimate...

Not necessarily. How is the Xbox One stacking up against the 360 in Europe? Is there a thread on that, as well?

Wow that an amazing piece of hardware it is
I hope it sells similar like the ps2 lifetime

There a bit of a numerical disconnect when I see the numbers charted.
On the one hand you look at these numbers and come to the conclusion that the PS4 is doing poorly.
But then you do some basic estimates and come to the conclusion that the PS4 will sell around 15 to 16 million -- possibly more -- this year, which is way more than the PS3 sold.
So what is the reason for the dilemma?
Is it that the US is becoming less and less of a central region, at least as far as the Playstation brand is concerned, or is it that the recorded numbers just aren't that accurate?

How is the PS3 outselling the PS4? Man those PS2 numbers.... Almost 3 million in December 2002 alone... Just in the US... Crazy.
