No, i'm actually starting to like linear games more and more. Sometimes you just don't have time to explore all the options and choices certain games give you.

Nah. A bad game is a bad game.

No. They tend to be hit or miss most of the time if the story. locale or characters are not sufficiently interesting however, more so than other genres. Bad or very mediocre gameplay can be crippling, but not as much as a bad narrative.

Eh, some games get by with attitude.

I'm a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series - massive grind, repettive mediocre gameplay, mostly terrible narrative, but highly entertaining for a while at least.  I've never got every character to 100% in any of them like the hardcore fans, just went for the handful that appealed to me.

Nope.

Are games like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 4/5, Uncharted, The Last of Us, God of War etc. bad games? Yes, yes they are, because they are linear.

Super Mario.

I just hate FF13, it's bland, too simple. I dont mind The Last of Us. But for FF ... i say f**k it.

depends.

Not at all. But it can be a bad thing if an open world game turns linear and completely changes the flow of the game (good example being FFXIII).
