I'm not gonna waste my time opening 1600 comments anyway trying to calculate the platform choice of 23k ppl based off 1.6k comments makes no sense.  My calculations were way more credible.

No, they are not.  Your figures are based on an irrelevant metric.

Besides, a sample of 1,600 out of 23,000 is actually a pretty significant sample.

This isn't a survery sample of 1600 people that you can later make assumptions on a source population, its 1600 random comments...no where near 1600 ppl actaully say which platform they are buying the game on.

You didn't open up all the comments, did you?  There are almost 1,600 comments.

Open them all up. then try your console search.  Do it for Wii U, PS4 and PC.  Get back to me with which one dominates.

Out of curiousity, I searched for "Wii" "Playstation" "PS4" "XB" and "PC" in Ctrl+F and found this over the last 5 Hours

Wii - 43 Matches
Playstation+PS4 - 5 Matches
XB - 4 Matches
PC - 31 Matches

Obviously its worth bearing in mind that this says nothing about the content of those comments, but I think its pretty obvious that Nintendo fans are fairly powerful on Kickstarter (for a number of reasons). Whether or not that would translate to a similar sales distribution is another matter entirely.

Well there's a few things to consider, not everyone that owned a N64 is still buying Nintendo consoles to this day, PS4 has more than double the install base of the Wii U and X1 has 3m more and the people that donate to kickstarters are pretty much the hardcore gamers.  Many hardcore people do own multiple consoles and the Wii U is not the console to buy multiplatform games on, no doubt its gonna run better on PS4.  That being said you don't need to play a previous entry in a series to be hyped for it, for example I've never played Legend of Dragoon, but if they were making another one I'd be hyped because many people call it the best JRPG every made and coupled with the very low entry point of only $15 for console gamers.  If there was a Legend of Dragoon sequel for $15 you bet I'ma jump on that.

All that being said I'm gonna say 10-15% for both the Wii U and X1 and 15-25% for PS4.

Again.  Go read the comments on the Kickstarter page.  Wii U dominates the platform of choice talk.

I opened the comments, hit ctrl+f for Wii U and only 3 comments popped up, that's not dominating.

I'm all for being a special snowflake but... I already broke your system.

Your system was based on pairing pledge to reward with no regard for human psychology. I pledged without concern for that purely so I could support an awesome project I've long dreamed of because I loved the original... which was a Nintendo exclusive.

Ya I'm sure many console owners are buying just the boxed PC version they can't use because they want to support the game...

Looking at Yooka-Laylee in action, it's clear that this kind of game is going to be of massive interest to Nintendo fans, who are arguably more accepting of this kind of cute platformer than their Xbox One and PlayStation 4-owning counterparts. "I think it certainly could be the case that there will be a lot of Nintendo fans in what we're doing," Sutherland says. "In fact, of all the emails and communications we get, a high percentage of them are asking us about Nintendo-related features. It's quite exciting for us because of where we've come from and our history."

Forget it, Twilord.  You're an anomoly in the data.  An outlier.  Nobody would ever invest into a project beyond whatever value enables them to acquire it.

Forget the history of the fans.  Forget the history of the developers.   It's all about the GTA shooter boxes.  That's where a Banjo successor will thrive.

You could at least try to hide your bias.

I am willing to alter my analysis based on variables discussed, the PC version is infact proving to have superior support than I'd estimated, most likely due to the capacity to emulate the N64 having granted them exposure.

The real question is are you willing to alter your analysis based on information to the contrary and extensive discussion?

PS4 - 31

PC - Little more than 100*

Wii U - Hundreds**

* - Search reached 100 just before I reached the end of the list. Search doesn't go higher than 100.

** - Search reached 100 long before I reached the end of the list. Search doesn't go higher than 100.

well the PC comments shouldnt be dicretly compared to console comments. a good chunk could be questions about systemreq or resolution.
