Ya I'm sure many console owners are buying just the boxed PC version they can't use because they want to support the game...

I am willing to alter my analysis based on variables discussed, the PC version is infact proving to have superior support than I'd estimated, most likely due to the capacity to emulate the N64 having granted them exposure.

The real question is are you willing to alter your analysis based on information to the contrary and extensive discussion?

Lets see, one arguement was to use random comments to make assumptions about a source population, something my stat prof would probably break out laughing at.  The other one was console gamers are buying the boxed PC version of the game, which does not include a console version, because they really want to support it.  Na I think I'll stick with what I had.

PS4 - 31

PC - Little more than 100*

Wii U - Hundreds**

* - Search reached 100 just before I reached the end of the list. Search doesn't go higher than 100.

** - Search reached 100 long before I reached the end of the list. Search doesn't go higher than 100.

well the PC comments shouldnt be dicretly compared to console comments. a good chunk could be questions about systemreq or resolution.

It may be fairer in some sense to compare it to Wii + Amiibo + Smash BUT on the other hand PC has alot more synonyms...

Yes please!  I havent bought any of the other amiibos, but id buy this.  Also i hope Nintendo takes up Phil Spencer on his offer and makes Banjo-Kazooie.

"Sure Phil, but could we get permission to have their Amiibo unlock their skin in one other game?"

"Like Mario Kart? Sure, why not."

Jeez, why doesn't Nintendo just finance the game already? They need more software and this is peanuts for a company like them.

Whos to say that Playtonic would even want that?

This.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo's talked to them, using the retro n64 box and cart they surely would need Nintendo's permission. Hopefully they can get an amiibo out for these guys as I'd love some third party ones.

I'd still also love to see nintendo work with these guys in future, it was a beautiful partnership with rare in the past I'd love a chance to reclaim some of it.

I'd be down for amiibo usage. :)

The question is if they actually make amiibo how do they make up for it on other consoles/PC??
Do they just give us the amiibo stuff as cheaper DLC?? Or do they say fuck you to a majority of thier fans??
Its kind of important they they try to treat all fanbases equally, not doing so could seriously hurt thier business.

The other versions will be able to run at higher resolution, with more stable framerate. And it's not like major publishers have been all too concerned about making sure all of their fans get equal treatment - just look at how many games released on Nintendo platforms and other platforms end up missing heaps of features on the Nintendo version for no other reason than that they couldn't be bothered to put the work in.

This is the spiritual successor to a game series developed under Nintendo's guidance, a series that flourished with Nintendo's help. I don't think it's unreasonable for there to be some little extras on the Nintendo platform version.

In fact, I say that they should push to get permission from Nintendo, and from Microsoft, to be able to add cameos into the respective versions of the game, too. Let DK and the other Rare-developed characters show up somewhere in the Wii U version, and let BK and Conker show up in the XBO version.

There's just so much potential for extra fanservice of various sorts. Yooka looks kind of like a Kecleon and Laylee looks kind of like a Noibat - they could have a Nintendo-specific costume option for the characters that increases that resemblance. More generally, costumes would be a great way to make more references. On XBO, they could have an outfit for Yooka that has a backpack and yellow pants. On PS4, they could have an outfit for the two inspired by Jak and Daxter.

We don't need parity, we need creativity. If that means each version of the game has different features, so be it. Just don't completely rip off one segment of the fanbase by leaving out important parts of the game or major functionality, and I'm fine with it.

You do realise Rayman Legends was firstly a Wii U exclusive, that then became multiplat, which then became delayed and sat on shelves for months to release along other versions. If that isnt a recipe to piss on potential sales i dont know what is, i think its sold remarkably well on Wii U all things considered.

And like I already said it came late to the PS4 and that was after the PS fanbase had already bought the game on PS3.  Comparing the Wii U to the PS4 version gives a heavy handicap to the Wii U version.

How does the Wii U version have a heavy handicap here?? Rayman was released on PS4 not long after launch, and it added a stellar game to the early PS4 library, all positive if you ask me. Ubisoft on the other hand not only stripped Wii U of its exclusivity, they couldnt even keep its projected launch window release date.

I am very excited for those amiibo
first amiibos since smash wave 1 I would get.
