Forums - Nintendo - Iwata Asks: Xenoblade Chronicles X

I guess this should reassure those who were worried that it would lack a strong story component.

"Yokota Right. So, to make the atmosphere of the world livelier, we thought that it would be better to add an online mode so players can feel connected. However, we had to take into consideration that there might be players who are scared to communicate with other players. I'm actually afraid to do so myself!(laughs)"

I'm really intrigued to see what the online aspect of this game is like. It could be very interesting and offer some added replay value to the game if implemented well.

I'm also quite interested in the online aspect. Playing the game with friends gives the game an instant +1 for me

More depth in the quests is the most interesting thing read in that translation. I loved Xenoblade on the Wii, but the optional side quest were just boring and did not seem to have much effort put into them (there were a few exceptions). I was already planning on getting Xenoblade X, but now I have some hope for the side quests to be of quality.

This is good news. Lots of good information coming out of this game and the additional quest depth is excellent news (even if I don't quite believe it myself).

The main story being slightly shorter is no major surprise either. The game definitely feels to be going more for that open world feel so I'm not surprised. Kinda pleased actually, so long as the extra stuff is worth the price of admission.
