Cross-gen is going to be a thing for awhile, partly because 8th gen simply isn't a huge leap over 7th gen in the way previous console generations were, and I expect 9th gen to be even more incremental.  Also, this particular game was originally a PS3 game, so a PS4 version is a bonus we had to reason to expect. I do get what you're saying.

Tales of Zestiria is coming to the PS4 with an additional $20 price tag according to Best Buy

Gematsu has revealed that Best Buy has joined the Dutch retailer Nedgame in listing Tales of Zestiria for a PlayStation 4 release, ahead of Bandai Namco announcing a PS4 release.  

Best Buy have the PlayStation 4 version listed at $59.99, while the PlayStation 3 version is listed at $39.99. On top of that Best Buy has also tied an October 27th release date for both versions. 

While Bandai Namco are yet to announce a PlayStation 4 version of Tales of Zestiria, if this listing is correct, then Bandai Namco will make at next months Tales of Festival. The Tales of Festival is due to take place from June 6 and 7 at the Yokohama Arena.
