Cross-gen is going to be a thing for awhile, partly because 8th gen simply isn't a huge leap over 7th gen in the way previous console generations were, and I expect 9th gen to be even more incremental. Also, this particular game was originally a PS3 game, so a PS4 version is a bonus we had to reason to expect. I do get what you're saying.
