Hoshido has a world map.

Nohr has more complex maps. Besides the usual "defeat all of the enemies"/"defeat the general" maps, there will also be suppression, breakthroughs, defending bases, turn restrictions, amongst others. There are lots of map gimmicks. (We've already seen dragon's vein.)

Both versions of the game contain the same characters. You'll be shown different aspects of their personalities in accordance to the route you select.

The downloadable version does not contain both sides. It does not lock the other route when you select one. You pay to receive everything up until chapter five, and once you make a decision, you will have to download everything from chapters six, onward, for the respectful route. The second download is free because you have already paid. If you want to try the alternative version, you have to buy DLC in the same way those with physical copies will.

You can also save directly to your 3DS system (versus the cartridge).

If you decide to buy the DLC, you can load your chapter 5 data and continue from that

instead of starting from the beginning. Of course, you can restart if you'd like to.

You'll be able to experience an entire story by only playing one route. The other is a completely different story.

The third path is in the middle of Hoshido and Nohr in terms of difficulty. People who began with Hoshido should still be able to complete the third path.

You'll be able to lower the difficulty in the middle of the game if you find Nohr too hard.

You'll still be able to connect with people who play the alternative version. (Probably means you can streetpass someone with Nohr despite playing Hoshido, and vice versa.)

There will be various perks for connecting with other players.

Yeap Yeap!!!

Games are going to be 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT Games!!!!

GoAT incoming (or should i add an "s" to that :p

I just hope the western version includes both paths without any weird mandatory DLC. Also, I wonder if Nintendo will do something with Awakening or its DLC months before IF arrives to the west.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

The DLC rules seems a little confusing. I just hope that the physical version has both story arcs with no need of fancy downloadable twists

Not sure why they're restricting all the different battle conditions to just the Nohr version. Sounds like if you start with Nohr and then play the other version, you might very well feel like it's lacking in challenge and variation.

About being able to lower the difficulty mid game, I hope that means you can raise it as well.

I think the point is Hoshido is very Awakening like. If you remember, Awakening was the same thing. Might be the highest selling FE, but there were complaints on Difficulty and strategy was lacking compared to other FE.

Black Kingdom is definitely dedicated to more of the Hardcore FE players, thus adding all the different battle conditions and not restricting it to 99% Defeat Enemy/Boss!

I really wish these games were coming to the west this year

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Gonna be epic just so as long as the price of the game isn't gonna be nonsense. Please just have $40-$50 for both games in the west... Please

The only way Nintendo can make up for not doing a WW release.. Is having both games in the same package for the west :p

Ah, that makes sense. Playing it safe and keeping one version similar to Awakening because it did so well.

Exactly, this way it doesn't (kinda) hurt anyone. plus we get 2 games.... 2 FREAKING GAMES when originally Awakening was suppose to be the last.

As for DLC, Awakening tookthe fan service approach, this time we get practically a third game.

I do understand the complaints about 2 games, but what the hell! If its full fledged games including a DLC (third story) that is long enough to be its own game i dunno why anyone's complaining:p

I mean we could of got FE white Kingdom this year with Black Kingdom a sequel which is an alternate timeline in 2 years from now and noone would of complained, thats how i see it :0
