Forums - Sony - DanganRonpa 1 & 2 sell 200,000 units in the west

It really wasnt. If anything it was Phoenix wright.

I dont think this means any visual novel will be sucessful aswell. Its a very specific formula of solving murders.

I'd get this if it wasn't Vita exclusive :(

You know what you've got to do.

You're also missing on Tales of Hearts R, Ys Celceta, Persona 4 golden anf many others.

That's impessive for 2 Visual Novels. Most Visual Novels aren't popular in the West, because most Westeners don't read books.

I dont have the same picture of europeans.... we read alot.

"most westeners" <.<

Your buying into the mentality that most americans just sit infront of a tv all day.... and dont ever open a book.

Its a sterotype... I dont think that reflects reality.

"Well that part may be true, what with e-books being hugely popular now and what not "

Well... when I mean open a book.... I too ment a Ebook :p

Last "real / physical" book(s) I bought was a George RR Martins - Song of Ice & Fire, collection.
(even then I had already read them in Ebook formats, I just wanted them to sit nicely on the shelf)

I think I've told you already. It's not the console per se, it's that I don't enjoy playing on handhelds.

Vita TV?

That...is actually a nice option I had not taken into consideration.

DanganRonpa 3 could be the next Persona 4: Golden.

The very least it deserves. I would love to see them be given a bigger budget in future games in the series, just to see what they could do with it. But if the series continues in the same way going forward, and maintains it's quality, that would be good enough.

People read more right now than in any point in human history.  For many of us go back 4-5 generations or more and illteracy was higher and many people read a handful of books in their life, with religious text being most prominent.   The TV age was really in the 60s and 70s when it was this exiciting new thing.  There have been several book phenomenons in western culture and people are conditioned to read due to internet and texting.  My library was a ghost building as a kid of the 90s, but now it is booming and they remodeled and added on.

Anecdotally from my age group (20s-30s) books are discussed more than television (excluding sports).
