Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Has VGChartz become the home for Nintendo fans?

Funny phenomenon - when a console is doing poorly, the fans seem to get really active.

There have always been a lot of Nintendo fans here. But we're definitely seeing lots of Nintendo lately.

When Sony wasn't doing as well, the Playstation fans were very active here.

I can confirm this as a long time member.

We have fans from all camps here, that's part of what makes it a great forum, the relatively friendly tone is another and the amount of intelligent discussion is the primary (for me).

The interests of nerds on internet forums does not reflect the actual sales situation on the market; I'm sure there are even dedicated OUYA forums to be found somewhere. Recently, the interest around Nintendo is revolving a lot around the slew of important and exciting news they have released; restructuring, heading into mobile territory, new hardware, improving economical outlooks etc. There really is a lot going on and it is currently the most interesting topic in the industry; the overall "console wars" are more or less settled and of little interest. See how little interest the weekly sales threads garner lately? This is not entirely hinging upon slow updates on numbers; it is also due to the fact that the "war" simply isn't very interesting right now, doubly so with the relative lack of major software releases.

The forums usually reflect what we're really thinking about; not what is going on at retailers around the globe, it actually makes perfect sense, especially for those of us who have been in here a long, long time.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I don't think so..

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Seriously, the forums have been very Nintendo driven lately. As big a failure as Wii U is, it doesn't make sense. I am talking sales wise, not that it has terrible games.

As much as I dislike Xbox, it would make more sense to talk about it more. Of course PS is the most successful, so why not more Sony talk? Maybe 3DS, but a lot of Wii U posts are posted. If Nintendo is so interesting, why isn't it selling Wii U's and 3DS' like hotcakes and crushing Sony and MS?

Then read my sugestion as a fellow PS fans :

1. Bring and invite more of your PS fans to this site

2. Share your bit coin to your friend who willing to active in this site writing PS article

3. and u also need to be more active and "try to be smart not get banned all the time "

4. Make more friend from all camp

5. Learn the art of writing

Because there are many, many, many Nintendo enthusiast fans. "Hardcore", in short words, and while they may only make up for 100K users (just a guess), this minority is very vocal over the web.

Just a guess, again, because I see that Nintendo fans can compete with Xbox and PlayStation ones in terms of presence; at least in some sites.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I see way more pro Sony talk around here than anything. It seems like Sony>Nintendo and then Microsoft with the PC coming in last.

Nintendo fans don't feel the need to stay in one place like a refugee camp, I guess.

Where have you been? It`s a fairly even divide among Sony and Ninten. There are a fair share of both, and the Ninten ones are a mixture of good and bad discussions. Perhaps it`s because of current events that discussions are filled more of one group over another, but it doesn`t seem so one sided on the site.

As for the Xbox fans, I guess they`re a quieter group? Where are you Xbox fans? o:

The majority of people that buy video games aren't so hardcore about it that they go on forums. The majority of Nintendo fans are ones that grew up with it and are , therefore, older and enjoy having higher level discussions on forums. Most Xbox and PlayStation gamers are teenagers. This trend will eventually die out and in 20 years most 20-30 year olds will be PlayStation and Microsoft gamers instead of Nintendo.

They're in Xbox Empire, for the most part. Which is a shame since most of the Xbox fans I've seen around the forums seem really nice and constructive in conversations. Wish more of them would join in (we don't bite hard).
