Forums - Gaming - Star Wars Battlefront Dev: We're Not Delaying Content for DLC

The only DLC announced is free and is arriving as soon as its finished.

Then why is it dlc?...

To paraphrase: The developers were only tasked with this world late into development, so they didn't think it'd be 100% ready by launch.

Also, because pre-order bonus + convenient marketing. Even if they finished it early, it's probably BETTER as free DLC from an objective standpoint.

OT: People are finding every little thing to hate about a game for which we've seen zero gameplay. I'm going to hold out opinions until we see something, because, y'know, logic. I'm hoping it's good, but if it's just an average shooter I can play with friends that's even slightly reminiscent of the original BF series, I'm sold. I'm not gonna boycot a game that might be very good just because it's not 100% of Battlefront 2. With that reasoning we'll never have a chance of getting a proper Battlefront 3 anyway.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

EA better get this game right. :/

Good question. I presume the game has to go Gold in October, DLC won't be finished til late November/early Dec. I hate day one DLC so I was ready to fume til I found out it was free.

This is all too shady, and EA has given me no reason to trust them.

At worst its designed to be a post november marketing tool (as if the film wasn't enough)

Because it isn't done yet...duh

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

EA and delayed for DLC content go hand in hand.

Aren't there already 5 planned DLC packs? lol

This whole week has been a PR mess for this game...perhaps they should have actually showed something interesting instead of just giving us a cinematic and telling us all the things that wont be in the game.

"Of course, if you want to think we're evil, you'll always think up evil motives and method. But in all essence, this is the output of hundreds of passionate people and games, just like people here, who want to deliver great gaming experiences."

This man seems under the impression we don't trust the developers. I'm sure the devs are doing the best they can. But if EA wants to squeeze more milk out of this release, they will.
