This is interesting, xenoblade is probably one of my favorite games of last gen but graphics (especially texture)  is not one of its strong points not even by wii standards, I am pretty sure there are lot of ps2 games with better texture quality, the only thing xenoblade chronicles has going for it visually is probably the size of the world, but the first thing you notice about the XCX video is the low res textures.

Also why is it at this late stage that you are now only realizing that you won't be blow away by this game graphically were you not aware of the specs of the wiiU or something? Unless you are aware of some hidden power that the wiiU has, that everyone else missed, that should have made this game a technical marvel to look at?

Xenoblade was technically impressive because of the wide array of textures, models and world data present, the textures being low resolution was expected considering he console only had 64mb vram with 3mb egpu tex mem, getting the world in like they did was impressive specifically because of that limitation.

The textures for XCX jump out the most because it's a console with gb available to vram and 32mb ed for gpucpu interfacing, so seeing them stick with the same cost-cutting measures they used for XC is dissapointing, it shows that the team hasnt quite moved onwards towards developing for higher performance hardware and are still stuck in their ways penny pinching for resources that are no longer a major issue.

The fact that theres a known texture pop-in issue for textures of this detail only further underlines that while the game itself may well be good, and enjoyable to play, from a technical standpoint, monolith are not yet ready to make good use of the WiiU hardware.

To put it bluntly, the graphical quality shown thus far for XCX, isn't the limit of the WiiU's capability, far from it infact, hence my dissapointment.

Well considering it takes something like 10x the power to see 2x the real world visual improvements in video game graphics (or something like that), I don't think the any game on wiiU should blow away any one (in terms of graphics for any of the current gen platforms). But since we are talking in context of the wiiU and the only other open world game with seemingly a large scale with a lot of resources going into it to compare it to is the e3 2014 footage of zelda wiiu (and the footage is probably cleaned up), it can clearly be seen that that game is using a semi cartoony cel-shading technique to mask the fact that high quality detailed texture would have probably been a limiting factor for that game.

So if any laymen is to go off  of what is already out, what is about to come out and what is a good way off for the wiiU, XCX graphics looks par for the course. Am not saying it couldn't be improved in any way, but improved to the level where its a striking difference, from what we have seen from actual developers for the wiiu, probably not.

Not saying you are wrong but nothing so far has pointed in that direction.

So you are one of those people who thinks that there´s a hidden power on the WiiU hardware? Dont you think that this is the most advanced and ambitious wiiu game from a tecnicall pov? And if not, what is the game that uses the WiiU hardware in the best way in your opinion?

I only watched the japanese version once. I am not gonna watch anymore so i dont get into spoilers territory.
I went in blind with Xenoblade and it really payed off. I already know more about XBX, but i will hold back on story related material. I already knew i wanted the game since the first trailer.

Well keep in mind that despite the release date, this is one of Nintendo and Monolith's earliest HD efforts with development beginning in 2012 before the console released.  And given the scope of the game, major overhauls to foundational aspects after they realized the problems caused by certain limitations in the engine could have resulted in an even more troubled and drawn out development cycle.  So this game isn't benefitting nearly as much from Nintendo's strides in HD development as other more recent software releases are.

You mean a $100 price cut or $100 price point?  The former is possible, though unlikely; expect a $50 price cut first.  The latter is preposterous.

There's hate for the game, mostly because its on a Nintendo console. If it was on another system,it would be getting full on praise o.o

If it was on another platform it'll be the second coming of Christ with a cult worshipping it.

you mean that it would be thought of as the second coming of christ and have a cult worshipping from a different fanbase.  Because I'll tell you from someone who enjoyed Xenoblade quite a bit, XCX is already treated like you stated by some.  Only difference would be who was calling it the best thing ever and who was disparaging it.

...

Trailer is very nice. I think i will enjoy this game :).

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Looks great, won't let the textures and all that stuff bother me too much, because If you see the landscapes of the game...

Maybe but I have a feeling a lot more people would be praising it.
