Forums - Gaming - Ryan Drummond, old voice actor of Sonic the Hedgehog, speaks out on SEGA: "They do not give a damn about what fans want. They only care about what makes them money"

The funny thing is that they are sitting on a pile of money and refuse to do anything about it. A second run of Panzer Dragoon Saga would be crazy money. They don't even have to make NEW games. Announce a print run of 10k copies, sell them at $99 with new collectors art and it would sell out instantly. A million bucks on one game. The retro crowd would eat it up.

Sad but true indeed Mr. Dummond. Sonic was one of my first non Nintendo characters that helped me out discover other games. Even more insulting is that Sonic alone is a big reason why SEGA could keep up with Nintendo during the 4th generation.

Might as well let Microsoft buy Sega and Microsoft will likely bring it back to its glory days.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Microsoft would ruin the company. Look at its franchises and then look where they sell.

Sonic - Dead
Miku - Dead
Yakuza - Dead
Phantasy Star - Dead
A bunch of their other smaller franchises like Stella Glow, 7th Dragon, Shining etc. Stuff like that, all dead.

Oh and then we have all of Atlus' stuff... yeah Im sure thats going to sell enough over on MS systems to be profitable

Unless of course you think Japanese gamers all of a sudden are going to start buying Xbox just for Sega =P

At least thier PC titles might be fine.

Indeed... along with the Shining Force series as well. There are other IP that can easily warrant a sequel, such as Shemune 3, but I don't think SEGA is going to attempt doing so. If anything, why don't they just sell their old IP since it has become apparent that they are apathetic about them.

-_-

You completely misread my post, it was about if MS bought Sega then all of those franchises would basically be dead (well at least a shell of what they are on PS/Ninty consoles)

That really concerns me. If SEGA stated they wouldn't do any more console games, what will become of Atuls then? Surely either Nintendo or Sony could scoop them up.

Exactly. The Saturn marked is packed full of rare games that people want now more than ever. Sega wouldn't even have to make new games. The best part is that everyone wins. Gamers get more copies of those ultra rare games. It would also lower the price of the secondhand market. Sega gets a new market to do limited releases and at high prices. People would pay the $99 because its a way better option than $300 for a game.

Release official controllers and peripherals and they would be set.
