PS3 is and was always gonna win.

360 was one of the biggest squandered chances in gaming history while wii is not even a serious console console, its more a toy. I don't know why your even asking that question on vg, go to a non biased forum and you probably wil get some good answers.

Get this through your heads - PS3 COSTS more and has NONE of its best games out, and its killing the 360 ww. 360 is heading for a quick death like its predecessor nothing will change that now.

Anyway , the is doing very good. It managed to sell the LTD of the GC in a little over a year. The X360 on the other hand is doing pretty bad, it's going to take 3 years to actually sell the LTD sales of the original XB, so only about 25% (1 year) faster.

It probably helped the PS3 that it's the successor to the most popular gaming console in history. I'm sure if the Xbox had been the system that sold 120+ million Worldwide that the Xbox 360 would be doing better than it is now.

The reason the PS3 even has the big exclusives it's getting like FF13 is because of the success of the PS2. Also had companies like Epic not made Unreal Engine 3 compatible with the PS3 there likely would be a lot less software for the system since the 360 and PC did most of the heavy lifting in terms of sales for the PS3's first year.

Sorry, had to do it. Seriously, though, this game was HUGE. If I remember correctly, the 360 outsold the Wii during the month it was released, so its possible for a game to give a big but temporary boost.

 I certainly don't think that MGS4 is gonna sell millions and millions of PS3's alone either. The bundle is gonna do well though, I'd imagine.

I never said huge games don't provide sales spikes. Halo 3 did provide a good sales spike but if a few good games can carry a system then Halo 3, Biosock, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey should be killing the Wii and PS3.

Halo 3 was launched at the end of September which mitigated its effect across two months. With that said here are the results of those two months.

September: VGChartz Hardware data for the period 01st Sep 2007 to 29th Sep 2007:

I broke it up into the WW #'s and the US numbers since Halo 3 is by far the most popular in the US. As you can see the Wii was able to hold onto the WW lead for both months but it did get beat for the month of October in NA .

you are not even a serious poster, you're more a delusional ignorant fanboy. Disregard the Wii all you want, it's winning. You will only make yourself look foolish if one day you proclaim "Sony domination is here" when it beats the 360 but is 20 million behind the Wii.

And the reason you say it has "NONE of its best games out" is because the ones that came out didn't cause domination like we've been told to expect. For a while now it was wait till Lair and that bombed, wait till HS and Uncharted, both were solid games but PS3 is still behind. If MGS4 and FF13 launch and the PS3 still can't routinely come in 1st we'll just hear more of "oh wait till XX comes out and then PS3 domination!"

 Thanks for the data. I just kinda wanted to throw Halo 3 out there because of all the hype it got from MS; they really made it huge (game fuel? c'mon...)

@twesterm, I totally agree. I think the real factor is public perception, the Wii is made out to seem so simple and fun, while the 360 and PS3 are more expensive, complicated, more "hardcore", etc.
