Definite differences, some lower res textures and level of detail close up, and different lighting. Based on what Curl-6 posted I suspect they may have reduced the minute details to improve the overall detail in the environment. That would make sense to me from a gameplay perspective.

While it's hard to make proper judgments from compressed footage, there are parts that do look worse. We'll have to wait for the final game to release to know if they're due to a shift in focus, actual downgrades (likely for the sake of performance), or are purely contextual. I expect it's a combination of all three.

This is a very interesting thread though. Some of the comments are a marked departure from their poster's normal reaction to stuff like this ^^

I think it has to do with compromise. If you look at the city scene it all looks like last-gen graphics but else where it looks like Wii U. I think the real limitation is the disc size which is not big enough for the resolutions.

Isn't the WiiU able to use dual-layer disks? That would allow for games of up to 50GB.

Over the course of the last two years, since it's reveal, we've seen a variety of give and take in regards to XCX; animations smoothed out here, lighting simplified there, geometry added here, alpha removed there, etc.

Almost all games go through this as they are developed, as devs play around with how best to spend their limited rendering budget.

It should also be noted that early showings of the game were heavily edited and controlled to show it in the best possible light, while more recent footage contains more candid uncut gameplay, which will naturally be less flattering.

Looks great. No idea what you pussies are complaining about.

And this has been the case with every single open world game released in the past 5-6 years, no surprise at all. I'd rather have more and better content than more fancy visuals, to be honest, and framerate trumphs AA and advanced lighting for me.

Definitely was.

Wow... i'm more amazed at the fact that some people are agreeing when they are simply different cut-scenes.

Different mechs, different stuff in the hangar, possibly different time of day and most likely different contrast in the colors.

It did, it's pretty obvious, but i don't care too much. Thr graphics are good enough and the gameplay looks amazing.

It's a cutscene, and I seriously doubt the one from E3 was even running in-engine.
