The PS4 and the Xbox One really aren't that similar...but okay...

People justify their purchase, if someone says 'No you are stupid for purchasing such and such.' most people will respond defending their choice.

The "war" is as simple as the South Park episodes about their release... which one your friends are playing on. It is natural for people to try to get others they know who are in the market for a new console to choose the one they frequent. That being said, the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are also the "cool" consoles with the "mature" games so naturally adolescents would flock to these and champion the one they have. I've prioritized a Playstation and Xbox for a generation and enjoyed them both. Ultimately, if you enjoy one, then don't let anything keep you from said satisfaction.

They fill the same niche. Everyone had to make the choice and it is entertaining to debate which one was the "Right" one. Honestly everyone knows this answer.

because though the fanboys don't want to admit it; the exclusive they the rant/hate on they wouldn't mind on their console because basically that what makes the consoles different

That narrow minded view towards the PS4 and XBO says everything, both systems offer completely different approaches towards ui, input, experience, environment and exclusives, NOT seeing this difference, while conveniently seeing the difference between Wii and WiiU paints this thread to ultimately be the same as every other thread you make and subsequently end up banned for.

I'm just gonna say it. For all this pompous, chest-pounding that the Wii U side likes to do about it how it is so "unique" and :"innovative" and "different", it is getting beating into the ground by the "twins." It may not be a financial disaster but it is clear that the Wii U has failed to captivate gamers outside of already loyal Nintendo fans.

The PS4 and XB1 are, in my opinion, far more distinguishable than the PS3 and X360 were. From controller, to exclusives, to even the updates and certain features/peripherals exclusive to each (Sony's Share play and photo modes and Microsoft's Kinect and something else, I can't think of anything)

Also, you don't stay for long because you have no self control in your ramblings and your threads are usually are not very thought provoking.

Frankly, I find the OP to be an utter mess. To say that the PS4 & XBO are the same is a very inaccurate statement and extremely dishonest in the context that the thread creator said that the Wii & Wii U are different. Yes, both the PS4 & XBO use x86 and share a lot of games, but they also have a lot of differences such as the UI, demographics (e.g. amount of JRPG fans in the userbase), exclusive games, and services (e.g. Spotify, PS Now, SharePlay, Skype).
