He's a notorious Nintendo hater. He earns lot's of money from doing jack shit (making youtube videos isn't real work) and let's his fans pay for a Wii U which he won't even cover on his channel because he doesn't get every dollar of ad revenue? Lol. This guy is too full of himself and there are plenty of major youtube channels that will still cover Nintendo.

To each their own on that. I believe that if someone sees huge portions or mere minutes of game then it's like advertising. Doesn't mean that everyone who sees it will want to buy the game but it does help sales some. If the game is good then those vids should really help sales. Advertisers get paid though. Youtubers are basically the same thing and should be able to make money off of advertising a company's product. Consumers shouldn't pay money to see those advertisments.

Not all advertisement is good though. A lot of developers don't provide demos, for example, because demos can hurt game sales just as much as they can help them. If one's opinion of a game is dependent on the let's player and not the actually quality of the game or Nintendo's personalized advertisement, then there can be unforeseen negative consequences and risks just as much as there can be positive ones. Here's an interesting Extra Credits video about the topic of demos, and I think they can be applied to let's plays as well.

I'll agree with you about that on demos. Demos only show a tiny bit of a game and the demo itself can be bad while the game is actually good. I think that youtube and Let's Play type videos are mostly good for video game companies. Those vids are a form of free advertising for 'em and some vids might point out some things that are bad about a game but those vids are free. It's unwise for nintendo to piss off youtubers because they can make bad reviews on games or just say bad things about nintendo just to spite 'em. It's like political advertising where the majority of it is highly negative.

Definitely agree with his points

Nintendo is a company that likes to have full control of their image (for better or worse.) It makes sense that they want to have control over who uploads what with their IP's on YouTube (especially if said person is making a profit.)  I think Nintendo charging YouTubers is more to mitigate the implicit costs of the risks they must induce by allowing non-Nintendo persons to show content of the game that you'd otherwise not be able to see unless you purchase said game (or watched a review.) A standard in the industry is that reviewers must follow certain rules, for example. They can't spoil games. They are restricted by things like embargos. etc, etc. A Let's Player is not restricted in these ways and while you might view it as a net benefit to Nintendo if they had a laissez-faire stance on let's plays, Nintendo apparently views the risks so high they must cover the costs somehow, and a lot of their policies seem much more about controlling said content than being greedy and getting money. I don't know who has made the better assessment, but it is understandable why a company like Nintendo might rationally choose a deviant path from other publishers in the industry by managing let's plays how they see fit (all publishers do this to some extent or another.) Square-Enix, for example, regulates let's plays on a game to game basis (like Nintendo.) Square-Enix does this primarily because most of their games are story-centric, wheras other publishers like EA/Ubisoft have a variety of story-centric games and non-story centric games.

I'm tired of youtubers like him saying Nintendo gets a free pass. I've never seen more hate on the internet for a gaming company than Nintendo lol.

EA called.....

AJ isn't hating on Nintendo; he is criticising them. He seems more disappointed than angry. Although he likes to swear a lot he does make valid points. He even said he enjoyed his Wii U more than his X1/PS4 combined.

Also from what I've seen, some of that internet Nintendo hate comes from within the fanbase. Brix were shat after Zelda U delay.

What is your opinion on Nintendo's stance?

Angry Joe is just an angry whiny annoying asshole. His opinions outside of those exclusively pertaining to the game he is reviewing have always been worthless.

"This is the final Nintendo Angry Rant and the Final Nintendo Video on this channel. Tired of these guys claiming our videos as their own. While other companies are understanding how valuable the youtube gaming community is, Nintendo only see's free labor and dollar signs.

Because of that attitude, I wont be covering Mario Kart, Mario Party, Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid and whatever 17th version of the same game Nintendo wants people to talk about on youtube until they pull their heads out of their asses and stop claiming videos."

There haven't even been 17 Metroid, Star VFox, Mario Party, Mario Kart and Zelda games.

My opinion on Nintendo's stance is that there are plenty of channels that cover Nintendo on a weekly basis, so he's obviously exaggerating the problem. I've seen Nintendo sending early review copies to youtube channels with only 2k subs. How is that being against youtube?

Not once did he say that Nintendo gets a free pass. He tried to show how much fun he was having with Nintendos Wii U with his friends and got flagged by copyright again. Nintendo is one of the lead flexible companies when it comes to though outside of their company. Also...no, a console company has never recieved more hate and backlash than Microsoft.

Lol dude, he said it in the video. Maybe you should watch it.

He's a Nintendo troll and hater. The 17th same Mario? Maybe this trollish behaviour is why Nintendo doesn't want this jerk covering their games.
