That isn't the problem. The problem is if they decide to release it on NX (assuming it is a home console) I can't see them doing a dual release on the Wii U and NX if that is the case.

I don't see there being anyway this game will not be released on WiiU, if it's on NX it'll be on both. If this game doesn't come to WiiU and is only on there next platform Nintendo is going to lose a lot of fans...

Yeah, they used Zelda hype to try and shift consoles in 2014. It would be a massive stab in the back to no longer release the game on Wii U. I think it'll be another Twilight Princess scenario personally.

OP exactly, I don't know why so many people thought 2015 was such a cert for it. It was past experience that had convinced me it was never coming out in 2015. I stated that several times on here to be accused of scaremongering.

Alternate headline: Wii U to be first Nintendo console without an original installment in the main series of Zelda games.

Yes, all the major Zelda games since Ocarina of Time have experienced delays, but all were a year at most, and all were released within the first 2 years of their respective console's launch. We're now going on 3 years without a main Zelda game for the Wii U since launch, and after seeing the teaser Zelda HD tech demo way back at E3 2011.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The better reminder? Nintendo is awful at managing time and consistently lies about release dates.

If game after game you can tell yourself that they're going to be delayed and they always are, Nintendo isn't being honest with the dates they give us.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

They haven't learned from their mistakes? That makes me feel so much better :D

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Yeah like delaying Twilight Princess on the Gamecube a whole year to also make it a Wii launch title.

lol, Lol, and LOL. Really? First of all we know nothing about "NX" aside that is a dedicated game machine. Is a handheld? We don't know. A Home Console?we don't know.  Or something else? We don't know. Is the Wii U remplacement? We don't know. Is coming next year? We don't know. How people can make such claim based on nothing! the delay is a good thing I felt like they were rushing the game, it took years for XCX to finallly be complete(JAPAN) and they have experience with big worlds. When this is release on "NX"  you can remind me about it :=)

It's no coincidence Nintendo is finally acknowledging the Wii U's failure when talking about the NX

Iwata:

As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename “NX.” It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year.

This is reason why they talked about NX, to ensure market that they not abounding consoles and go mobile only.

I can't believe that there are some people that think Zelda U is not coming on Wii U!?
Do you really think that Nintendo would do that to their biggest fans that bought Wii U!?

If you really think like that you don't anything about Nintendo.

Like I sad,
in worst case they can pull TP and release it on two platforms in same time,
but hardly because NX is probably next handheld and we dont know if can be released in 2016.

All developers probably play Skyrim to get some inspiration, this may be the reason for the delay. But they should better play Dark Souls.

It's true, they do. I'm expecting something truly unique this time though. It better not be the same recycled plot they've used for the past two decades.

I remember being tortured by Nintendo magazines ten years ago with Twilight Princess and it's umpteen supposed release dates, and when it was finally released we essentially got a remake of Ocarina of Time.

Still, there's no reason to build everyone's hopes up and then let them down. It shouldn't have been announced, shown, or promised a 2015 release. Nintendo brought this backlash on themselves.

The Ocarina of Time torture I had to go through was worse. That game had numerous release dates that Nintendo had missed and the game looked different every time it shown. What's worse was that there was nothing else like it, nothing to compare it to so the waiting was almost unbearable.

Also, why shouldn't Zelda U have been shown if they really thought they were aiming for a 2015 release? They showed it last June and it was more than 9 months before the announcement came that they were going to delay it. I'm sure a lot happened behind the scenes. How were they supposed to know LAST JUNE that they wouldn't be able to get the game out before 2015?

Just because it has happened with the other Zelda's isn't an excuse for it to happen to this aswell, you'd think they would learn by now and try and avoid this from repeating, but nope, it seems they have not learned there lesson yet.
They are going against everything that they have said, no more droughts, no more delays, no more 5 year cycles between LoZ games.
