Forums - Gaming Discussion - Buy a PS4 if you want exclusive games, says Michael Pachter

No. The whole point is about exclusives. Right now Nintendo is on fire with those even though they lack third party.

Nintendo is not part of the topic for good reason as I explained earlier.

XB1 and PS4 can be compared in terms of exclusives because they both have good 3rd party support, Until Nintendo can put out enough games to compete with all the 3rd party games it doesn't get AND the exclusives available on other consoles it's never going to be a viable option.

If we're comparing WiiU against a PS4 or an XB1, all those multiplats are pretty much exclsuive as far as WiiU is concerned. Point being for someone buying only one console WiiU is useless. You buy a console for the entire library, just because someone picks a PS4 over an XB1 due to PS4's exclusives compared to XB1's doesn't mean he's not going to play the multiplats that are also available on the PS4.

He's only demoting Nintendo because of third party, but ive we're talking exclusives, which he is....the Wii U is well ahead of the competition. He failed to specify that if you want the console with everything that Sony is the winner, because right now that seems to be the case. Pachter's argument in general is flawed, plain and simple.

And so far XB1 has had no quality exclusives...

imo i cant really say there's a must have exclusive on the system yet, whereas the only must have so far on ps4 is bloodborne

Halo and Tomb Raider are on their way with a side of Quantum Break.

Eh, it's not like he's wrong. Nintendo has the most first party exclusives...but good luck getting more than 2 a year. Sony, on the other hand has tons of third party exclusives and indie games also available on Steam. Microsoft? Uh, they have, like, two exclusives currently out now? They dug themselves a deep hole. Going to be a slow climb out of that hole but, hey, the PS3 struggled and eventually caught up. So who knows?

He is wrong. If we're purely talking about exclusives from first party Nintendo. If we're talking about exclusives in general around all parties then Sony. Microsoft has plenty of exclusives, but they cannot outdevelop Sony.
