I'm reading about it and it's apparently fairly similar in style to Dragon Age. Open world, loads of quests etc, so I may put it off until I've actually finished Dragon Age

But coming from PS4/PC it's quite confusing to see games on sale so rarely for the 3DS, so there may not actually be much benefit in waiting

Think of Final Fantasy XII with a MUCH MUCH larger and more detailed semi open-world, better combat/customization (each character is very unique combat-wise), and a better overall story. Add in some town-building elements, and an affinity chart (where your actions through side-quests affect how people feel about you and each-other.) Now you're thinking of Xenoblade Chronicles.

Sounds cool, but still sounds a lot like Dragon Age... (though I probably preferred XII to Dragon Age, XII has airships)

It's on my list. If I see it cheap I'll jump, but for now I have the aformentioned Dragon Age to play as well as those which I bought with the new 3DS (Layton, Pokemon and Zelda)

Now Nintendo just needs to put the real version on the Wii U VC.

The game is launching soon? WTF, where is the big hype? o.O

Metacritic doesn't even have the correct box art on their website. Pfft, posers.

Not for another couple weeks, and it's not a major surprise there's not a lot of hype for such a re-release.

The original is one of the best games I played in my entire life and I played a lot of games, especially non-Nintendo JRPGs. It even beats Chrono Cross and Dragon Quest V PS2 on my list of all time favorite JRPGs.

This game is heavily underrated and overlooked and a must play for any JRPG fan on any console and it will be really hard for Xenoblade X to get any better. It has a few flaws like 1000s of stupid but completely optional kill or fetch quests but even if you skip that, you will have 80+ high quality gaming hours and a very deep and philosophical story which is somehow connected to Xenogears and Xenosaga.

Looks great, anyone mind telling me what the Metascore for the original is?
But I will definitely be picking this up the day I get a New 3DS

It's really stupid how some of the critics are suggesting people play it on Wii instead. Um, yeah sure I'll just go drop $80 for a USED copy. Because that's totally not ridiculous or anything...

They need to understand that people can't just go play it on Wii. If you didn't buy it like 3 years ago then you pretty much can't get it now.

The original has a 92 with 60 reviews.

OP: everything between 85 - 90 is expected and pretty good for a slighty downgraded remake. Cool ^^

92 I believe, so slightly lower but not overly.
