I miss gameplay intensive titles like classic side-scrolers and jrpgs. But the current consoles have some amazing content. There are more games available than I can play. Mario 3DW is a masterpiece and COD Advanced Warfare is endless fun. Destiny is wonderful. I could go on...

Games i have really enjoyed this gen so far (no ports, no remasters)

Dead Rising 3
Killer Instinct
Resident Evil Revelations 2
Forza Horizon 2

When last gen first started...... in the same time frame, the only BIG HITTERS that came out for me were Gears of War & Dead Rising.

So overall, i wouldn't say its the best generation start by any stretch of the imagination (Dreamcasts first 18 months are still by far and away the best start to a generation ever) but it's by no means the worst either.

I played two of the best games of my life.

So I can say I'm happy with the 8th gen already.

Fact: 2007 saw the release of those games 2 full years after the gen started on November 22 2005 with the 360.
If you want to be subjective, please wait until holiday 2015 to make comparisons.

Destiny & Driveclub?

The only way PS4/X1 have bad libraries if you refuse to acknowledge cross gen titles.

More exclusives and ground breaking experiences would be better 100%, but this gen has actually gotten off to the most solid start in terms of quality games available for the systems. Theres just not as many jaw dropping standouts, there its taking slower but thing are looking to change starting with the Witcher 3 and Batman. Bloodborne if your in to that,

Destiny & Bloodborne.

To be fair I didn't played DriveClub or The Order for example... Bloodborne is the first non-plus game I played after Destiny.
