Shit, compared to the things I get in League of Legends, all of this feels unbelievably tamed.

Oh definitely, by the stories I've heard. I get the impression that being a new player on DOTA 2 or LOL is the equivalent of being Hitler, just because of the way the other players treat you.

I'd say PC games are more susceptible to start fights and trolling situations. I mean, you have the keyboard, the easiest way to write aside from the regular writing instruments, hence why everyone can insult each other without problems. In consoles many ideas feel incomplete, so the insults feel tamed, as you say.
