I don't know if VGChartz has send a notification. However, I do think they realized that their researches and track algorithms are not working at all. In order to adjust it with real numbers, they are just waiting for the true trackers' information, even if those are released monthly. They undertrack and overtrack everything, and is more remarkable in software numbers.

I really want they return, but if we have to wait for monthly numbers, I don't mind waiting for them.

They alternate between long breaks inbetween updates the. Suddenly making quick changes daily. My guess is to be more accurate

the last global update was from the 21st of march. It's now over a month later and counting.  The best part of this site is dying.

Don't you mean the Feb 28th? I expect this long break to be curved by consistent updating in the next few days. But they really need to up the consistency

I'm actually very surprised it's been 10 days since USA chart came out and no other country / region since then.

I still reckon they should put hardware up as soon as there is a reasonable estimate, even if they only put it up in tools until they have the global software done for the week(s) prior. No one really takes software too seriously with the inherent inaccuracy of the estimates and the effect of digital sales. This generation the only numbers that have any connection to reality are hardware numbers.

The thing that confuses me is how come VGC is always so slow with the Japan numbers? They have the hardware and top 20 software gift wrapped for them by at least 2 local trackers. Half the job is done for them already, yet it is almost always the last country to be posted every time.

I don't think their usual algorithm will work for this gen as a lot has changed.

- The Ps3, Wii and 360 are not the same as their successors

- Digital sales are growing

- Spikes in sales are now coming from launches in various countries as well as launch of big titles during other parts of the year

I think ioi needs to rethink strategy. If this were my site I would have 2 charts for each, software and hardware. One would clearly be marked as prediction via extrapolation and the other an update chart once some numbers have been released via media create, npd etc. 

That would shut the doubters up and give a balance of both.

I think they just gave up.
