Hello, onionberry.  Since you're new here, I'd like to welcome you to the internet!  Also, there is a magical place called Japan upon which much of the internet depends.

Please reference Rule 63.  Also, part of the blame goes to female coplayers, many of whom seem to have an overwhelming urge to play male characters.

Unless they give him a voice, who really cares? Link is a pair of trousers, he barely has the personality of a cardboard box in most of his games. he is an avatar 99% of the time, through and through. Making him female wouldn't increase the number of female *characters* in gaming because he isn't a "character" in the strictest sense.

If they ever officially change Link to a women, the sales will tank. Mario is a guy, Samus is a girl, Snake is a guy, Sonic is a... hedgehog.

Things are what they ARE. You can't just change them because you're an activist. It doesn't work that way.

In Zelda U Link looks like handsome boy, not girl. I can't understand any speculations here.

With that hair and jawline/eyes... he looks very feminine to me. Science has figured out this whole male/female masculine/feminine thing. Bone structure, hair length, it decides what we considers "manly" and "girly". The latest video of Link has very girl like features.

Link doesn't have a specific gender. Canonically it makes just as much sense with a female link, because Link is sorta reborn. That's why we have all these different heroes. Hero of time, hero of twilight, hero of etc... You don't have to create a new character to have a female Link, only a new hero.

I thought Link looked very manly in OoT on the N64. Otherwise I kinda looked at him like a magical elf. Seriously I kinda considered hyrule a elven kingdom, so I saw no issue with any of the games.

Yes link is a female in Zelda U!!!!!

If I keep saying it it'll be true!

Mario should be a girl.

There really isnt any reason for Link to be a female, especially since it just feels forced than a genuine desire.

I dont mind being able to choose your Link gender in future games but if Link becomes a girl, then Zelda will become a guy, then the shipping reactions will destroy us all.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I really doubt the vast majority of the Zelda fans would mine. In fact, people were gitty with excitement on this very website when speculations of a female link, if I remember correctly.

I used to dislike playing as a female lead because "it hurt my immersion" but after playing games like Tomb Raider, TWD, The Last of Us, Dragon Age and Mass Effect, I actually make my character female to see the game from a new perspective (i wish dialogue would change more in DA and ME though)

Granted, I'm not a fan of the zelda franchise but I am a fan of change and I think the Zelda franchise (as an outsider looking in) REALLY needs it.
