I don't think you guy's understand just how good this game is...

Going from stealth trolling to joke posting? If so then I heartily approve.

And welcome back!

 haha. Thanks.

But yeah, this game  quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. I have close to 300 hours on this game so far. I can't believe how great the game is myself.

You are right, SSBB is not a fighting game. I mean you play it with four people! Thats not fighting, thats just a mess.

Tekken is so much better, especially in the early days like 1983, when Tekken -50 came out on that Atari Collecovision.

I for myself prefer the good old Street fighter and Karate games, not that new stuff like Streer fighter 2 of course, since you were playing with girls in there. Girls cant do fighting either, so its not a fighting game imo.

first of all im sure you are not an idiot, so you understood that by saying 1983 i meant that i started playing video games. And its idiotic to say that anyone that doesnt like ssbb its not a real gamer...thats why i pointed out when i started playing games. I dont say anything negative about the review presented from the thread originator, but thats one false claim he has made. Finally believe me im not a retro fan, those early games where nice at their time, not now, so dont be sarcastic with me. Go watch a trailer of the new street fighter, soul calibur and tekken games. But yeah i forgot what do I know, im not a real gamer...

Oh fuck yeah. My thread's BACK and heating up all over again!

I found it by going through my new best friend Audiomatic's post history.

Hell, I was born in 1983 and I started gaming in I don't know, 1984 or 1985, the second I could climb on a chair to touch the tabletop Pong machine, then I learned to read really fast (thanks to my hero Dr. Seuss) so I could play Zelda II and Dragon Warrior, and then I was off to my intense long division training on Donkey Kong Jr. Math. And still... if I had some huge balls and no brains and didn't like Brawl... I wouldn't be a real gamer.

It's fighting at its best. Just ask Riot of the Blood. He was almost a hater. The game converted him. It was a beautiful transformation. Let Brawl heal you Audiomatic.

To compare this game to Tekken is just ... unjust. It's gross. Tekken doesn't even have 4 player FFAs or Ultimate Chimeras or Smash Balls or sausages or co-op adventure modes or anything FUN AT ALL. It's just 2 idiots punching each other and maybe saying something stupid between matches about how strong they are.

I dont agree with ur claim man but I also have a question for you, can you please tell me what defines a real gamer in your opinion?

Dont play daft. He clearly stated his definition of real gamer. If you dont like Brawl, you are not a real gamer. Thats what he said. It is even in the title of this thread.

Reading comprehension anyone?

A real gamer will play anything he or she can get their grubby gaming hands on. A real gamer tries all games, and discards no games based on graphics, style, developer, franchise, how "childish" or kiddie it looks, or anything other than gameplay. A real gamer eats, sleeps, and breathes gameplay.

If you like playing games, you like games that play well more than games that play poorly. This is all that matters.

If you like games, you most likely like a fighting game or 2 or 3.

If you like fighters, you like Brawl, and maybe a couple more.

If you only like one fighter, it just has to be Brawl, because it's infinitely better than the rest.

When I was younger, I memorized every move, fatality, and friendship in MK2 and 3, and even some of the babalities, and many of the secret codes. That's what separated me from my friends: I was insane enough to memorize all that bullshit.

With a superior game like Brawl however, it's not memorization of complex button sequences that separates the champs from the chumps. You each have 4 moves that are simple to use, no matter which character you are. Everybody's on the same playing field when it comes to special moves. Now you actually rely on timing, reflexes, and thinking 3 steps ahead.

Now I can barely touch traditional fighting games. They expect me to press 3 or 4 buttons in a row to shoot a fireball ever again? They're fooling themselves.
