My thoughts on the series COD4, MW2, WAW and Black Ops was the COD golden age. MW3, black ops 2 and Ghosts left a sour taste in many fans mouths. Yes MW3 sold a shit ton like BO2 and were loved by many but I think they turned many of the long time fans away like me who'd played cod since the ps2 days.
My theory is that millions of fans have quit the series but the new generation of young gamers since are taking our place. I've a few friends who played MW3 and loved it. But it was their first cod. If black ops 2 or MW3 was my first cod id love the series still.
They basically fucked the long time hardcore fans over and are aiming at the casuals now. The best we can hope for is a remake of cod4 and/or mw 2 or black ops 2 to return to its black ops 1 roots. |
I started with COD4, then played WaW, MW2, skipped BO1, played MW3 and skipped BO2 and Ghost, then got AW
My favorite was MW3. I thought it was the most balanced, no super knifing (MW2), no op grenades (COD4), no bad maps (WaW and MW2), No one weapon everyone used (looking at you MP40 from WaW), no nube toob overkill (MW2 and WaW), killstreaks were rewarding but not overkill (MW2, COD4, WaW... dogs)
Its the only one I returned to after a new one launched (got really into MW3 again August-Sepember) 2013.
Last gen CoD, Zelda, FF, GT, and Fire Emlem were the only console games I really played. Spent all my time on the PC. The PS4 has me into console gaming like I have no been since the Gamecube/PS2.
That is why I appreciate most of these remasters because I missed just about all the other games (TLOU, TR, GTA5, DS2, FFX/X2, etc)

add me, the more the merrier.
