Ghosts absolutely sucked. It was the sole reason alot of COD faithful had moved on to Destiny, Titanfall, Killzone etc. Advanced Warfare added and changed just enough elements that it is still "Call of Duty" but has invigorated the franchise. Clever elements like random supply drops often containin superior weapon variants give it a long term appeal even though the gameplay remains the same. I've put in almost 100 hours and am still yet to unlock the much sought after BAL-27 obsidian steed!!!

People (on the internet) want it to die. Usually if something is popular, it also gets a lot of people hating it as well

CoD ain't dying anytime soon.

COD will keep on living for a long time just like Mario and there is nothing they can do about it.

it certainly is declining, but its not dying. i can see this years CoD be bigger than the last two. specially since it will most likely be Black Ops 3

Also I want to point out on the USA software charts that COD Ghosts on the 360 is on #16 on the list while AW is #20.

There are no alternatives to CoD right now. Titanfall was too insubstantial. So was Destiny at launch. Advanced Warfare freshened things up a bit, should help it keep going.

And GTA V has no bearing on CoD.  It targets a similar crowd maybe, but it doesn't satisfy the same need CoD does; the two don't compete directly in that sense.

black ops 3 will sell near black ops 2 levels, and i really hope it's next gen only, including wii u. that game will sell consoles if it's next gen only.

I know people who play both CoD and Battlefield and they have told me multiple times that neither is a replacement or alternative for the other in terms of experience.  Whether you or I agree with that is irrelevant.  The demographics targeted by these games view it this way, and that's what matters.  

Yeah, but the Wii U version sold like garbage.
