Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are there no multiplayer modes for turn base RPGs?

Seriously, Pokemon is the only one I can think of. Why is this so though? Is it the traditionalist mentality of most developers?

There's no need to in most cases ...

What he said.

I remember getting into discussions about who would kick whose ass in Final Fantasy Tactics.

SRPGs would probably be the best for it, but everything else is pretty self-explanatory.

Ff
Final fantasy 6 had it. Kinda pointless tho

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I remember playing multiplayer on FF3 on the SNES with my cousin. It wasn't nearly as entertaining as one would think. Secret of Mana was much more fun.

Pokemon you collect creatures and create a team to fight with. Most turnbased rpg's everyone has the same characters so there's little point in a multiplayer mode, it'd just be whoever has the highest level and best equipment wins.

I would rather have a co-op ARPG. Skyrim online could be fun (Elder Scrolls Online isn't close to what I'm talking about.)

One day when I create my first video game, I'm gonna add just that!
