Forums - Sales Discussion - PS Vita is starting to do good!

Japan alone will probably push it to 11 millions. Maybe because you know... They get games while the system is dead software wise in the west?

Taking 3 years to reach 10 million after its predeccessor did 80 million isn't what I call strong

Can you name a dedicated handheld that is currently matching it's predecessor? :P

I'm sure the Vita has more games at this point in it's life than the PSP did at least.

Look at that huge drop off. Only the Wii U has the bigger drop off

The Vita's library isn't anywhere close to the PSP's library in 3 years.

Better  Good

It's not doing well, but it's better than what VGChartz expect.
Vita is probably doing better than the Wii U.

While PSVita sales are increasing considerably, the sales are still kinda low, like, very low. Now that you mention Wii U, the same goes for it. Its numbers increase slightly in the West, and slightly decrease in Japan, so in the end, it's doing bad too.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Its def picking up pace. Hopefully thats a good thing and more devs will make great games for it.

Personally, I love my Vita and feel it definitely deserves to do better then it is. I'm glad to see it doing better but it's a shame it isn't doing triple this on a monthly basis.

PSV is less than 30k in NPD. I have no idea why you would count Playstation TV as a vita, it had bigger sales this month because it was heavily discounted. Would you count super game boy or gamecube GBA player? Those are dedicated devices unlike the vita which many people aren't even buying to play vita games.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yeah that is a problem. People who want to play vita games will get an actual vita as the TV doesn't play a lot of the vita major titles. People buying it probably already own a vita and want to play a few games on TV, or it's being used for it's other purposes.

Your example is not the same, Gamcube GBA player was something like an emulator. Vita TV isn't an emulator.
VGChartz is counting New 3DS XL, New 3DS, 2DS, 3DS and 3DS XL together.
Why shouldn't they count Vita, Vita slim and Vita TV togehter? They are already tracking Vita TV for Japan but not global. This is unfair!

It's still doing poorly. No other way to spin it.
