Except Metroid would've never sold this shitty. Nintendo can only release so many Mario games before it starts hurting the franchise.

Metroid would bring a new crowd to the Wii U, Kirby doesn't. Everyone who likes platformers already has a Wii U.

But again, this didn't cost nowhere near as much as a metroid would. Thats my point as well. And calling it shitty is 100% early as its a game that is most likely sold 150k+ so far to retailers without holidays+Europe/etc yet. The game will hit over 300k lifetime, calm down.

And stop acting as if Metroid is savior of money making. I love Metroid and all but kirby racks in Wayyyy more money than Metroid easily.

Even this quote on quote shitty sales probably done better in profits than a few Metroids. (coming from the worst selling Kirby too, thats a spin off)

I doubt this will even profit. Everyone says this is a budget title, but this is one of the best looking games on Wii U.

Nintendo just needs to kill off Kirby and we'll all be fine. Let HAL make a new IP.

I never act like Metroid is a big money maker. I don't even care nor ask for a new Metroid game.

What I do want is no more 2D games on Wii U. And especially no Kirby.

This franchise is nowhere near good enough or sells enough to have justified 23 (!) games in a time span of 22 years. Get real.

Don't forget this is the kind of game that has high digital sales
I would no way say this is a flop

You doubt it but if they shell out 400k-500k i bet thats definitely far enough, especially going by they are only charging $40, not to mention They green lit this while the predecessor sold 720k on DS. Its definitely not as bad as your making it. Equivalently FE on WiiU would need 600k+ to profit as stated by nintendo i believe back in 2012/2013. This game wouldn't nearly cost as much to make as that.

Also, stop with the "Kirby needs to stop/die"... Its BS! You just sound like someone tht doesn't like a franchise, thus it must stop.

Jokes on You apparently^ As they wouldn't make that many games if there wasnt something there. BTW the last Kirby is over 1.7mil and will head up over 2mil+ lifetime, seems like they aren't going to stop, especially with a spin off budget title. You can bet will get at least 1 more Kirby, and it just might be a 2D Platformer for the WiiU which i do hope comes.

Kirby Triple Deluxe is only at 1.38M.

2D Metroid wouldn't be more expensive to develop and would sell similar numbers.

Sorry for not wanting annualized franchises to exist. Especially with weak sales like that. If it was selling like CoD or Assasins Creed perhaps.

Kirby has about as much games as Zelda despite being 6 years younger. Let that sink in. There are more Kirby platformers than Mario platformers. There are more Kirby games than main Pokémon games. There are more Kirby games than DKC games (despite each DKC game blowing Kirby away saleswise).

** 1. Kirby is at 1.70mil, Your using VGC im using official figures as of 2014.

2D Metroid wouldn't be more expensive to develop and would sell similar numbers.

** 2. No Comment, this cant be answered.

** 3. Kirby is actually a top Tier selling franchise in Japan, Triple Deluxe is way over 800k there, that is crazy good considering not even 90% of games hit over 250k in japan.  Its fine you dont have to want it annualize but you thinking it should be killed is definitely beyond reason as i stated above with Kirby in Japan being a top Tier Franchise.

Kirby has about as much games as Zelda despite being 6 years younger. Let that sink in.

** 4. Ok whoop dee doo!? Dont know why you think this is a good argument at  all...

In Your Post^

and Finally 5. Your arguments are weak, if any/most of them were true, we wouldn't see That many Kirby Games at all.

We see so many Kirby games because HAL is afraid to try something else. Sakurai left HAL because of that.

Why do you want HAL to only make Kirby games? You can't go without a Kirby game for 3 years?

Ok, whatever you say. All my points still stands. Kirby is one of the best selling franchises in Japan today, as long as that is true it'll continue to be made.

It isn't.

Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Youkai Watch, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are.

If HAL made a new ip they might be top tier in Japan one day.

The West is bigger and more important than Japan anyway (market wise).

Even MM 3D is on track to sell Kirby numbers in Japan.

Flop or not,it is a weak game...really nothing special!
It neither help wiiU to sell some more hardware nor make a real profit for the company....
It was just a sad trying to have something to release in a year beginning really sad for wiiU,which looks the competitors increase theirs offer...
About the gamers,it can provide some fun to somebody, but it is ignored by the mojority!

Are You Crazy? You listed only the top Franchises in japan lmao, Exclude those 6 only franchises that sold more than Kirby this gen was Wii Party U/Luigi Mansion/SSB/MK/Mario 3D+2D Platformer

So Kirby is one of the best selling franchises in japan. This is FACT, dont try to spin it.

"Even MM 3D is on track to sell Kirby numbers in Japan." No its not even close.

And yes i know the west is bigger, but that doesn't mean much when Kirby is amoungst the top seller in japan
