I don't really get the confusion of the n3DS not being a 3DS...

A DSi is upgraded and can play games that a DS cannot but they are technically still considered the same console..

Any way, Wii U in 2014 have sold 49,000 in January and 82,500 in February 82,500+49,000=131,500 x more than 1.2 = +94k is easy.

As i said, Wii U is 95,000 to 97,000.

DSi sales are counted with the DS, so no they shouldn't be separate. Idk about the whole Vita situation.

So, Wii U is at 97k/96k

20% is most likely rounded up, not down. 

I will steal the math from GAF:

131,000 in January+February 2014 x 1.2 = 157000

157k - 63k in January 2015 = 94k

The exact Nintendo PR is "more than 20%". You can't round up from less than 20% to "more than 20%". 94K+1 is the lowest number Wii U could have sold, but it's likely to be ~95K. I think with PR of this sort they will anounce the whole number (20%) and not talk abput the decimals. So if it was 21.X% Nintendo would have said over 21%, IMO. Wii U @ 95K --> 20.6% up YoY YTD. 96K --> 21.1% up and I think Nintendo would have said over 21% if that had been the case.

So who needs Aquamarine huh? It's almost like some of the companies are wanting gamers to know the numbers and since forum leakers are scarce they are giving out enough information for us to work things out.

Bet (not really): when VGC has numbers undertracked or close to correct companies will provide information that can be used to work out NPD. When VGC is significantly overtracked companies won't give out information to allow calculation of NPD.

Nintendo has me torn now. At first I thought those saying the N3DS was separate hardware were being silly, but now learning there is a game only playable on N3DS that can't be played on 3DS, I don't know now. It's not as easy as Kinect as the comparison would require Nintendo to sell whatever makes the N3DS different separately for 3DS users to buy, which they don't. Dang it Nintendo, my brain don't need this :(
